Тема урока: Do you know English- speaking countries?
Тип урока: урок обобщения и систематизации знаний.
Дидактическая цель урока: обобщить и систематизировать знания учащихся по теме.
Цели:
1. Развивать иноязычную компетенцию, т.е. способность учащихся использовать полученную информацию в различных ситуациях.
2. Формировать интерес к культуре англоговорящих стран.
3. Обобщить лингвострановедческий материал по указанной теме. Углубить и расширить знания по теме.
4. Совершенствовать умения и навыки практического владения английским языком по данной теме по всем видам речевой деятельности: аудированию, говорению, чтению и письму.
5. Повысить интерес к изучению иностранного языка.
Задачи урока.
Обучающие:
1. Обогатить знания учащихся в области страноведения.
2. Совершенствовать лексические знания по теме.
3. Активизировать навыки монологической и диалогической речи.
4. Продолжить развитие коммуникативных умений.
5. Продолжить работу над расширением словарного запаса.
Развивающие:
1. Развивать мышление, умение давать оценку, высказывать своё мнение на
английском языке.
2.Развивать интеллект, воображение.
3. Развивать умение вероятного прогнозирования и проверки прогноза с помощью аудиотекста.
Воспитательные:
1.Формировать интерес и уважение к культуре англоговорящих стран.
2.Воспитывать культуру общения.
3.Формировать умение работать в группах, парах, помогать друг другу.
Приобретаемые навыки детей:
ребята учатся работать в группах, анализировать, сопоставлять, обобщать полученные результаты;
развивают интеллект, логическое мышление, воображение;
воспитывается культура общения на английском языке.
Формы организации работы детей: фронтальная, групповая, парная, индивидуальная.
Формы организации работы учителя:
Используются словесно-иллюстративный, репродуктивный, практический, проблемный методы, беседа-сообщение, метод письменного текущего контроля;
проверка ранее изученного материала, отраженного в презентациях учащихся;
введение в систему ранее усвоенных знаний того, что было систематизировано на данном уроке.
Оборудование:
компьютер, проектор, интерактивная доска, презентации учащихся по англоговорящим странам, политическая карта мира на английском языке, видеофильм «Window on Britain.», аудиозапись текста «Great British Sporting Events», магниты-флажки и эмблемы флагов англоговорящих стран.
Ход урока
1. Организационный момент. Good afternoon!
Who is on duty today? What date is it today? Who is absent today?
How are you today?
Dear boys and girls? Look at the screen and name the countries.
- The UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the USA
- What is the name of our lesson?
Today we are going to speak about ENGLISH-SPEAKING COUNTRIES. We should summer up our knowledge of these countries.

Today we have an unusual lesson- a competition. We have two teams. They will show us their knowledge of culture, geographical position, achievements of these countries. You will do several tasks at the lesson. Some of them were prepared by you at home, but most of them weren’t prepared. I hope our competition will be fun.
For an excellent answer you will get a red star, for a good answer – a blue star. At the end of the competition you’ll count all the stars you received. The winner will be the team with the biggest number of the red stars.
Dear boys and girls, today we have guests at our lesson. We ask you to help us.
And there are a lot of equipment in our class, be attentive and careful.

4. Listening comprehension. Second task.
Listen to the text, guess what country it is. And why? There are 5 cards with the names of the E-Scountries on your tables. Show the card. Who will be faster and right? First text, second text

Take the sheets of paper. There is the text about one of the largest city of the USA- New York. Read it and write true or false. I give you 2 minutes.
Now change, please, your sheets of paper. Look at the screen and check your answers. One red star is for each right answer. How many right answers did the 1 team(2 team) give?
6.Диалогическая речь.Dear friends! Now we’ll see whose captain is the best.
Come to me Nastay and Dima. Choose the card with the name of one of the E-S countries, don’t show anybody. Ask questions to each other to guess the name of the country.

9. Let’s speak about holidays. You must take the card and read it. Guess, please, what holiday it is.
1) Families and friends celebrate this day. Every town and every city has parades, games and sports with prizes. On that day in 1776 the United States became independent from England. It was the beginning of a new life.

The festival commemorates the arrival of Christianity in Ireland, as well as celebrating Irish heritage and culture. Now it is celebrated by many people throughout the world, Irish and non-Irish alike, with food, drink and all things green. (St.Patrick’s Day)
4) You can see American flag every where on this day. People honor the man who was the discoverer of their country. (Columbus Day)
5) 4) This is the biggest holiday of the year. Many people enjoy it most of all and say this is the main holiday of the year. The President gives his speech on TV. Parents tell their children that Santa Claus will come to their house at night and leave presents for them.( Christmas)
6) This holiday is an official celebration that commemorates the anniversary of the 1788 arrival of the First Fleet of British Ships at Sydney Cove. Outdoor concerts, community barbecues, sports competitions, festivals and fireworks are some of the many events presented in communities across Australia for this holiday. (Australian National’s day)
