Методическая разработка урока

«Насколько вы материалистичны?»

 

Класс: 10 класс

Материально-техническое  обеспечение урока:  компьютер, проектор, экран,  презентация, раздаточный материал (карточки для ответов уч-ся)

 

Цель: Развитие коммуникативной культуры и компетенции учащихся

 

Задачи: 1) Закрепление и расширение лексических навыков по теме.

               2) Развитие навыков аудирования

               3) Развитие навыков диалогического и монологического общения.

               4) Закрепление и совершенствование грамматических навыков.

               5) Совершенствование навыков письма.

               6) Выработать у учащихся чёткое понимания термина «материалистичность», научить их критически относиться к обладанию материальными ценностями.

 

Ход урока:

 

I.               Greeting.

 

-Good morning, students! How are you today? I’m glad you’re O.K.

Today we are going to find out what materialism is and how many materialistic people there are in your class. You will practice  new vocabulary, listening  and you’ll collect ideas for the speaking activity.

 

II.            Warm up.

 

-Imagine you had 10.000.000 rubles. What would you spend it on?

(Students give their ideas)

-Look on the screen and find your variant to see if you ‘re more or less materialistic.

-What is MATERIALISM? Do you know the meaning of this word?

(The meaning is on the screen, S1 reads it)

 

III.        Listening for gist.

 

-Do you think teenagers today are materialistic?

-You are going to listen to several young people on the streets of London. They were asked if they thought teenagers today were materialistic. Listen to the interviews and answer the questions in the card.(S 1 reads the 2 ??)

-Lets check your answers.

 

                      IV. Listening to practice reported speech and note-making.

 

There are 10 unfinished sentences on the screen.

 

-Listen to the tape again and catch the exact words or phrases to complete the sentences.

You may do the task in pairs. Make notes  into the card.

-Lets check.. Read your sentence and compare it with the  sentence on the screen.(S1-S2-S3)

-What are your ideas now about what makes people materialistic?

 

V. Checking the homework, practicing the active vocabulary.

 

Now it’s time to see the sentences you rephrased at home. We’ll check and correct them to use later in speaking activity. Open your exercise-books and read the sentences in chain.

-Look  on the screen and compare.

 

VI. Speaking.

 

            -We are going to find out if young people in your class materialistic?

-You will work in groups of three and ask each other questions using the clues given in your S.B. at p.57.

-What questions can you make?(S1-S2-S3)

-Don’t forget to give detailed answers with explanations. Use expressions from your home exercise.S1---S2 S3(makes notes) CARDS

-What is your score?

 

And now each group have two minutes to give short answer to the question:

Are young people in your class materialistic?(S1,S2)

 

VII. Hometask.

 

Now you are ready to give a written answer to the question How materialistic are you? It’s ex.5b at p.57.
