Yesterday Mrs Reed and her pupils walked in the park. They ran, jumped and played games. Then they saw an old man. He sat on the bench and read a news -paper. Mrs Reed and the children went up him.
- I see that you are a very old man – she said.
- Yes, I am 90 – the old man said.
- Could you give the children some advice about a healthy lifestyle? –asked Mrs Reed.
- Of course! Don’t smoke, don’t drink, don’t eat much sugar or fat and drink a lot of water.
At that moment Mrs Reed saw another old man, who looked older than the first one. He was sitting in a wheelchair, but his eyes were merry and happy.
-How old are you, sir? - Mrs Reed asked.
-I am ninety-five. -the old man answered.
-Can you tell my pupils why you have lived so long? Mrs Reed asked.
-I always do morning exercises, and I don’t smoke or drink. I spend a lot of time outdoors and I eat a lot of fruit and vegetables.
Suddenly Mrs Reed saw the third man. It was a very, very old man. He had no teeth and he couldn’t see well. Mrs Reed came very close to him and asked:
- May I ask you some question, sir?
- Yes. – the old man said
- Why have you lived so long?
- I don’t know, - the man answered.
- Tell my children about your lifestyle.
- OK. I smoke twenty cigarettes a day and drink a bottle of whisky every day. I never eat vegetables or fruit and I live on chocolate and cakes. –the old man said.
- How old are you, sir? – Mrs Reed asked.
- I am forty. –the “old” man said.
