The lesson will start with short video, “The Kinetic Molecular Theory (Animation)”, introducing the topic.

The teacher then asks the students what they think we will study next.

Some answers regarding the studied topic are expected.

The teacher then tells the students that the topic of this lesson will be learnt as a group research and that the Subject-specific vocabulary & terminology shown on the slide is expected to be explained by the students during their presentations.

The class is divided into three groups (four students per group) and laptops are distributed.

The objectives for the lesson will be displayed on a slide, as well as the theme of the lesson.

The teacher will present some suggestions for the development of the students’ presentation.

The word document, “34 Resources and Guidelines for Group Work”, which had been previously sent to students’ email, will now be opened by the students.

Teacher will inform the students that each group will have a maximum of 9 minutes to present their work, on the next lesson.

Success criteria will be shown.

Students will start their group work.

Teacher walks around the room taking private notes on the work of each student individually and on the work of each group.

One member of each group will be called to come to the front of the class and briefly explain, for no more than one minute, what their group has done so far and how the group organized themselves (if they split tasks, if they all research on the same topic..).

Students continue and finish their work.

At the end of the lesson, learners reflect on their learning and quickly write down their answers to the questions shown on the PowerPoint.

The teacher collects the reflections.

Differentiation - how do you plan to provide more support? What tasks do you plan to set for more capable students?

More capable students will organize themselves faster and more effectively. They will assume the leadership of the group naturally.

Grading - How do you plan to check students' level of learning?

Private notes will be taken by the teacher during the research regarding the performance of each student and each group.

Health & Safety

Handle laptops and books with care.
