Narrator: Once upon a time there lived a man whose wife was the most selfish woman that could ever be. She had 2 daughters as selfish as their mother. That man’s daughter was very good-natured girl, but  her stepmother hated her and always gave her the most difficult and dirtiest work about the house. After finishing her work she usually sat among the cinders in the chimney corner that’s why she got the name of Cinderella.

Cinderella (sweeping the floor): Oh! Poor me! So much work I have to do: to clean the windows, to sweep the floor, to prepare dinner for the family, to feed the pets. How can I do all that!

Mother-in-law: Hey, Cinderella! Haven’t you prepared dinner for us? We are very hungry!

Hurry up!

1st daughter: Yes, hurry up! We are very hungry!

2nd daughter: Yes, hurry up! We want to eat very much!

Cinderella: All right, Mum! Your dinner will soon be on the table.

At that time the King’s Herald appears and reads his order:

“King’s Majesty makes a great party today! All beauties are invited to the King’s Palace. The ball begins at 8. Don’t be late! Hurry up! We will be dancing  for the whole night!”

Mother-in-law: Oh, it’s good! It’s very good! I have got 2 beauties. They must take part in this ball!

1st daughter: How nice it is!

2nd daughter: How wonderful it is! We want to go to the ball!

Mother-in-law: Well, Cinderella. Now you have a new task: to make Polly and Molly most beautiful girls at this ball. Dress them and comb their hair properly. They must be ready in 2 hours!

1st daughter: Yes, we must be the most beautiful at the ball!

2nd daughter: Yes, we must be the prettiest at the ball! Cinderella: All right, sisters! I’ll try to do my best!

She dresses her sisters and combs their hair.

Mother-in-law: Well, my dear! Are you ready? You are my loveliest daughters! Let us go! Good-bye, Cinderella! Be quick with your work! Don’t be lazy!

Mother-in-law and her daughters go to the king’s ball.

Scene 2

Cinderella ( crying): Oh, poor me! How I want to dance at the ball too! But nobody will help me! I’ll never be there!

Fair-Lady appears in front of Cinderella.

Fair-Lady: Good evening, Cinderella! Didn’t you forget that I am your Godmother and I can do everything? I will help you! You will  dance at the ball!

Cinderella: But I haven’t got a nice dress!

Fair-Lady: Don’t worry, my dear!

Fair-Lady touches Cinderella with her magic stick and she becomes dressed into a beautiful gown.

Cinderella: Oh, thank you! But how can I get to the King’s palace?

Fair-Lady: Look! This pumpkin will be your carriage and these mice will be your drivers. Be happy! But remember: you must return home by 12 o’clock! Cinderella: Thank you, Godmother! Thanks a lot!

Narrator: At last Cinderella got into the  pumpkin carriage and went into the King’s palace. She was very happy because she would dance at the ball, and she was very excited.

Scene 3

The ball has already begun. All guests are dancing. Cinderella enters the dancing hall.

Prince (sitting on the throne):Oh, what a nice girl I see! Who are you, my dear? Where are you from? Will you dance with me?

Cinderella: Of course I will. You are so kind to me. And I am so happy to dance at your ball!

Prince: Do you want any ice-cream?

Cinderella: Yes, I do.

Prince: I will bring it to you. Just wait here!

Prince goes out. At that time the  clock strikes 12 o’clock.

Cinderella: Oh, I must come back home! What a pity!

She runs away and loses  a crystal shoe on her way home.

Prince (carrying an ice-cream):Where are you, my dear girl? (He finds her crystal shoe) Oh, she has lost it while running! But I’ll find her!

The King’s Herald announces the order:

“My King’s Majesty wants to find the girl who lost a crystal shoe. That girl will be my son’s wife. Help me to find her!”

Narrator: Prince and his men went to seek the girl who lost a crystal shoe. They travelled around the whole kingdom and at last they came to Cinderella’s house.

Scene 4

Prince and his guard enter  the house.

Prince: Good morning girls! Did you lose your shoe at the King’s ball?

1st daughter: Of course we lost it!

2nd daughter: Certainly we lost it!

They try to put the shoe on, but it does not fit them. Cinderella is sitting in her corner at that time.

Prince (notices Cinderella and addresses her): And you, my little girl, come here. Try this shoe on! Oh! It’s yours!!! It were you who danced with me at the ball! I’ve found you at last!

I love you and ask you to be my wife!

Cinderella: All right, my Prince, I’ll be your wife. I love you too!

Narrator: Dressed in her fine clothes Cinderella was taken to the King’s palace. They married a few days later. They loved each other very much and lived happily for many years.
