Rainforests are dense, warm, wet forests.
The biggest rainforests are situated in South America, Africa and South Asia.

There are many kinds of different animals in rainforests. They are:
A butterfly
A snake
A monkey
Amazonian royal flycatcher
A parrot
A leopard
A crocodile
A hippo
Zebra duiker
Small antelope was found in Côte d'Ivoire and other parts of Africa. They are holders of a red-brown colour with a characteristic zebra stripes. They live in lowland tropical forests, feed on leaves and fruit.
What animals live in rainforests?
A lot of animals live in rainforests. There are many beautiful birds, insects and reptiles.

Why are rainforests important?

The rainforests are very important for us. We need them! The trees and other plants in the forest produce the air that we breathe.
They also help to control the weather. They give us wood, rubber, fruits and many of our medicines.
Why are rainforests in danger?
Unfortunately, in many places, the rainforests are in danger.
People cut down the trees because they want to grow rice and rubber trees to make rubber there.
