”Обед в школе. Модальный глагол Should”.
Цели и задачи:
1. Развивать умение обобщать и анализировать изучаемые факты и понятия, расширять их кругозор.
2. Учить учащихся выделять главное в учебном материале.
3. Совершенствовать навыки грамотной устной и письменной речи и аудирования на английском языке.
4. Прививать учащимся нормы поведения в общественном месте и при взаимоотношениях с окружающими людьми.
Ход урока.
1. Речевая зарядка. Приветствие. Дата.
Now open your exercise-books and write down the date. Today is the 12th of February. I like February very much, because it is the last winter month and many people are looking forward for spring. Tell us why you like winter.

The theme of our lesson is “School Dinner”. Also we shall continue to work with
modal verb Should.
2. Now let’s
give some pieces of advice to each other.
(Учитель раздаёт листы с заданиями).
You should be polite with classmates.
You should come to school on time.
You shouldn’t bring mobile phone to class.
You should read English more.
You shouldn’t run in the corridors.
You should help your younger sister.
You shouldn’t break trees.
You shouldn’t drop litter.
You should follow the parents’ advice.
You should do your homework every day.
You should learn more English words.
You should play sports.
You should wash your hands before eating.
You should study optional subjects.
You shouldn’t be cheeky.
3. Well, now open your textbooks at page 129. Let’s do ex. 1 and 2. Повторение слов по теме “Food”: spoon, fork, plate, napkin, knife, etc.
Where can you see these things?
4. Now let’s speak about our canteen
What is your favorite food?
What do you buy at school canteen?
Do you go there every break?
Do you have dinner at school?
Is school dinner expensive?
How much does it cost?
What would you like to eat and drink in our canteen?
5. Let’s create your own menu for our school canteen.
Use the words porridge, kasha, borshch, etc. (слова записаны на доске)
6. There are some traditional dishes in every country. You know that the most popular English dishes are pudding, porridge, bacon and eggs. English “pudding” is “пудинг” in Russian. But do you know how the English name our Russian dishes? Let’s read them. (Учитель показывает карточки со словами и говорит: Find the description of this word.
Vinaigrette - Russian salad, it is a mixture of vegetables boiled and chopped.
Rassolnik - soup with pickled cucumbers.
Pelmeni - Russian dumplings-cases of dough filled with meat.
Kissel - thin fruit jelly made of fruit or berry juice and potato flour.
Shchi - cabbage soup.
Kasha - cereal pudding. It is made of oats, rice, manna groats, etc.
Blini - pancakes (made of flour, water or milk, yeast and eggs).
Okroshka - soup with kvas, hard-boiled eggs, radishes, chopped spring onions, cucumbers, boiled meat. It is cold.
7. Now I want us to discuss some proverbs about meals.
Your task is to guess the meaning of them. Write down the Russian translation. (Учитель раздаёт листы с записанными на них пословицами ученикам).
The appetite comes with eating.
Every vegetable has its season.
A spoon is dear when lunch time is near.
A hungry man is an angry man.
Porridge and cabbage soup is but our native food.
Too much butter won’t spoil the porridge.
The last piece of meat is especially sweet.
Hunger breaks stone walls.
You say you are a mushroom, - so - into the basket you go!
Tastes differ!
A man with a full belly thinks no one is hungry.
