Тип урока: комбинированный

Форма организации работы в классе: фронтальная, индивидуальная, парная и групповая

Цель:  формировать навыки говорения; развивать умения читать и воспринимать информацию на слух с общим и детальными пониманием услышанного; воспитание уважительного отношения к различным видам профессий

Задачи:

- познакомить учащихся с историей выбора профессии журналиста;

- формировать способности к непроизвольному запоминанию при восприятии на слух, к сравнению и сопоставлению фактов, к формированию выводов, к умению работать в сотрудничестве;

- повторить и закрепить лексику по теме «Schooldays &Work»;

Оснащение урока: компьютер, проектор, экран, аудио-материал, раздаточный материал

Ход урока

1) Организационный момент.

Цель: создать рабочую атмосферу, подготовить учащихся к мероприятию.

Girls, today we will revise and sum up what you’ve learned in Module 3. And, of course, there will be some new and useful information for you as well.

2) Мотивационный этап  и проверка домашнего задания

 Цель: создать у учащихся мотивацию к изучению материала.

And now you will have a great opportunity to show your knowledge by taking part in our competition. I wish you good luck! So, let’s get started!

Let’s do the warming up and check your homework. Your first task was to prepare short descriptions for any profession you like. You were to use 4 - 5 sentences which describe your profession best. Who wants to start?

·        Do you want to be a ...?

·        Do you consider this job to be interesting?

·        Do you have to study long for this profession?

·        Why have you chosen this job?

·        What subjects do you need to know well doing this job?

Well done! Your second task was to create  2 groups and to perform 3 mimes which show 3 professions.  The other group is to guess them. So, whose group will be the first? 

·        So, what job was mimed a few seconds ago? How did you guess?

·        Can you guess the job?

·        What are they doing?

Thank you, girls! Your homework is perfectly done! It was such a laugh!!!

But life is not a bunch of roses. One day you will have to make your choice. By the way, is it possible not to work? Do you want to be a housekeeper? Why?

All professions have their own advantages and disadvantages. Let’s define general pros and corns which are suitable for every job.

Well, I have a friend. You will watch a video with her participation. She has made it a week ago. So, it is an exclusive interview.

Before watching this video, I want to be sure that you know some of the phrases which will be mentioned in the film.

New words and phrases

·         to have every ground to do smth – иметь все основания чтобы

·         to be exact – to be accurate (быть точным, точнее говоря)

·         pros and corns – advantages and disadvantages (плюсы и минусы, преимущества и недостатки)

·         to pop up a question – appear or occur suddenly and unexpectedly with a question (неожиданно задать вопрос)

·         an editor-in-chief – главный редактор

·         a neophyte - a person who is new to a subject, skill, or belief (неофит, новообращенный, новичок)

·         to get an exclusive shot – сделать эксклюзивный снимок

·         to pick up another job – поменять профессию

·         to obtain justice – добиваться справедливости

·         to prevail – prove more powerful than opposing forces; be victorious (восторжествовать, одержать победу)

·         the other side of the coin – the opposite or contrasting aspect of a matter (оборотная сторона медали)

·         to be tight - lipped – not to be eager to talk (с сжатыми губами)

·         a VIP  (a very important person) – очень важная персона

Imagine that you are a reporter. You are to make up a questionnaire (3 questions) on ________________ . Act out the interview between a reporter and a passer-by. Choose a partner and play your part. You have 2 minutes to complete this task.

·         Begin you interview with: “Hello, I’m a reporter of “_____”. I am carrying out a survey on ____.”

·         Be polite.

·         Be active.

·         Let the other person answer your questions.
