1. London There are a lot of places of interest in London. Among them there are: Westminster Abbey, the  Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, St Paul’s Cathedral, London Bridge, the Tower of  London. London is situated on the river Thames. Crossing the river by the Tower Bridge you can see the Tower of London. It is one of the oldest buildings of the city. Many centuries ago it was a fortress, a royal palace and a prison. Now it is a museum of arms. On the bank of the Thames  you can see Westminster Palace or the Houses of Parliament. In one of its towers there is famous Big Ben, the  largest bell of England. Buckingham Palace is the Queen’s official London residence. London  has many beautiful squares. Some of them are quiet; others are busy like Trafalgar Square.  Trafalgar Square is the central square of the city. To the right of the square there is the National  Gallery which has a fine collection of European paintings. St Paul’s Cathedral is the biggest  English church. Another famous church is Westminster Abbey. London is also famous for its beautiful parks: Hyde Park is one of the most famous parks in the  world and Regent’s Park is the home of London Zoo. London is the capital of Great Britain. London is one of the largest cities in the world. More than 9 million people live there. London is on the river Thames. London is very old and beautiful. It’s more than 2 thousand years old. The oldest part of London is the City. The City is a business  centre. Westminster is the most important part of London. There is a very big clock there. People cail it Big Ben. But Big Ben is the bell. Westminster Abbey is a very beautiful church. It’s over  900 years old. In West End we can see shops, hotels, theatres and museums. The biggest  museum in London is the British Museum. The streets are wide. There are many parks, gardens  and squares in the West End. In the East End there are many fine houses. The queen lives in  Buckingham Palace. 2. Му working day.  Му working day starts at 7 o’clock. I get up, jump out of bed, open the window and do my  morning exercises. Then I go to the bathroom, wash myself and clean my teeth. Then I dress and  go to the kitchen. I help my mother to cook breakfast and lunch for us. It takes 15 minutes. Then  I sit down to the table to have my breakfast: a hot tea with lemon, two sandwiches, a boiled egg  and porridge. After breakfast I go to school. I go by bus. My lessons begin at half past eight and  end at two o’clock. After school I go home and start doing my homework. On Wednesdays I go  to the football club. I play football with my friends on the school sports ground. In the evenings I read books, watch TV with my family or go for a walk with my dog. At nine o’clock I go to bed. 3. Му school life.  I’m ten years old. I live in Russia. I’m a pupil. I go to school five days a week. School starts at  half past eight in the morning. I come to school early because I like to play in the playground  before classes. Every day I have five lessons. We study Russian, English, Maths, Nature Study,  Music, Art and P. E. My favourite subject is English but I don’t like Maths. I always wear my  school uniform: a white shirt and blue trousers. Our I’m ten classroom is comfortable and always clean. There are fifteen desks in it. There are three white windows in the classroom. The  blackboard is green and the floor is brown. Near the blackboard you can see a big bookcase.  After classes I play football with my friends and then go home. I do my homework. Then I have  dinner and play computer games. 4. Му favourite school subject.  I’m a pupil. I go to school five days a week. I study Maths, Russian, English, Literature, History, Nature Study, Music, Art and P. E. All the subjects are important. I like them all, but most of all  I like Russian and English. At the Russian lessons the teacher asks questions. We answer very  well and get good marks. Then we write dictations and learn rules. At the English lessons we  read books in English, do some exercises or describe pictures. Sometimes I take English books  from our school library. It’s my home reading. I spend a lot of time studying grammar. I like to  study a lot. 5. At the library.  Once a week I go to the library. The library in our town is very big and beautiful. There are three reading­halls there. I have a reading card. A lot of people go to the library on weekends. I like  reading. I usually take interesting books. I like to read short stories about animals, fairytales and  comics. Sometimes I read poems. The library in my school is not very big. It is light and nice.  There are six tables and many bookcases there. I can sit on a sofa and read a book. The librarian can help me to find the book I need. Pupils go to the library to take and read books, newspapers  and magazines. Many teachers go to the library too. 6. At the theatre.  I often go the theatre with my classmates. We buy tickets in the box­ office. We go to the theatre to see a play. There are two parts in the theatre: the stage and the hall. I can see a big curtain and  the orchestra. Actors and actresses are on the stage. They are talented dancers and singers.  People wait for the beginning of the play in the hall. They can sit in comfortable armchairs or on  the sofa. In the hall you can see photos on the walls. There is always a small cafe on the ground  floor. There you can have a cup of hot coffee, juice or tea with cakes. I like to visit the theatre. 7. Му hobby.  I have got many hobbies. I like to play football, watch TV or play computer games. But most of  all I like to collect coins. I buy coins in special shops. Sometimes my friends visit other countries and bring me coins. When my friends come to my place, I show my coins to them. My parents  give me coins as my birthday present. I put my coins in the boxes. I like coins that have pictures  of animals and birds. Some of them have pictures of different cities. I have got many coins. I like my hobby.
