The special thing about phrasal verbS is that they mean sómething different from their parts. So it can be quite difficult to guess their meanings. For example. you know the verb take and the preposition after, but that doesn't help you to work out the meaning ot take after. The best thing to do is learn phrasal verbs one at a time, as idioms. Check out Tests 22 and 38 for some more practice with phrasal verbs.
