 ПО ТЕМЕ «FISHING FOR A COMPLIMENT» (APPEARANCE)

В VII КЛАССЕ

 

Коммуникативная ситуация урока: «Говорим комплименты»

Ведущий вид речевой деятельности: говорение

Тип урока: комбинированный.

Цель: содействовать совершенствованию навыков говорения на основе аудирования, чтения, визуальных опор

Прогнозируемый результат: предполагается, что к окончанию урока учащиеся смогут делать комплименты друг другу.

Задачи:

Образовательная:  учить школьников пользоваться английским языком в рамках предложенной коммуникативной ситуации.

Развивающая: содействовать развитию внутриязыковой и межязыковой догадки, развитию умения использовать зрительные и «аудио»- опоры для продуцирования собственного высказывания, помочь учащимся осознать социальную, практическую и личностную значимость учебного материала.

Воспитательная: способствовать воспитанию у учащихся культуры общения, уважения, умения делать комплименты искренне, умения пользоваться правилами речевого этикета.

Оборудование: доска, учебник «Английский язык: учебное пособие для VII класса учреждений общего среднего образования с русским языком обучения» Н.В.Юхнель, Е.Г.Наумова, аудиоприложение к учебнику, раздаточный материал, аудиозапись песни «You are beautiful».

Методы: коммуникативный, интерактивный

Применяемые формы деятельности: фронтальная, парная, групповая.

Организационный момент.

Введение в атмосферу иноязычного общения.

- Good morning, everyone! How are you? Are you in a good mood?

- Well, let`s start our lesson with a song to guess what we are going to do today.

- Listen to the song sung by James Blunt in 2005, fill in the missing words. (Приложение 1)

- Why is the singer repeating “You are beautiful”?

 - I completely agree with you.  He is paying a compliment. Read out a word that is always repeated in the song.

 - What part of speech is it? What is the reason for using that adjective?

 - You are right, to pay a compliment. 

- What compliment can you pay to a person who is nice?

- So, today we are going to learn how to pay a compliment to someone and how to take compliments.

Fine, thank you. We are great today!

- What do you think  “ a compliment” is?  It seems to me, it is a polite expression of praise, isn`t it?

- Think a bit and put down   associations you have with the word on the board. - - - And now let`s read the definition of “compliment” you have in your books and compare it with what you have on the board   P.26, ex. 1

- How many people are taking part in these small talks?

-What are they talking about?

Face each other, read these small talks in pairs and put down into your copybooks all the compliments you will find out. (SB. p. 26, ex. 2a,b)

- Let`s see what you have written.

- Which of them are about appearance? Which (are) not?

- And now read out different ways to take a compliment.

-So, do you have to return  a  compliment with a compliment?

-And now to mind the intonation while complimenting, listen to the small talks once again and repeat the compliments.

To have a rest let`s play a bit. Each team gets a lot of compliments on the cards. Divide them into three groups:

- about appearance

- about character

- about something people are good at.

(The winners read compliments and the other team checks.)

 

 

 

 

- And now face each other, pay a compliment and return it according to the situation on the card you’ll choose. Use the expressions you see on the board, in the book and on the cards for help.

- Do you think you can pay a compliment to me?

- Move around the classroom, change a partner and pay a compliment to him/her.

-You look well (wonderful) today!

-You look like a million dollars!...

Compliments on character:

- You are the life and soul of the company!......
