HARRY POTTER AND THE BASILISK

Scene 1

Слева в золотой раме сидит Леди в розовом. Из противоположных концов сцены-коридора друг к другу идут Почти Безголовый Ник, Филч и Хагрид. Встретившись посредине, они останавливаются.

Nick: Good morning!

Hagrid: Good morning, Nick, Mr. Filch! Is everything all right in Hogwarts?

Filch: Yes. I check everything every night

Nick: Thank, you, Mr. Filch. 

Hagrid: It’s so nice that today is the first day of school.

Nick: Yes, I think I can hear our wonderful students.

На сцену выходят ученики.

Lady-in-Pink: Dear children, I hope all of you remember the rules of Hogwarts.

Students: Yes, ma’am!

Lady-in-Pink: Let’s check. Can you sing our song?

Lady-in-Pink: I can see that you remember! Great job!

Дети уходят, справа появляются Гарри, Гермиона, Рон, Коллин Криви, затем Кейти, Джинни, потом Драко, друг Драко.

Hermione: Oh, Harry, Ron! Glad to see you!

Harry: Hello, Hermione!

Ron: Look at my wand! It’s broken! How will I do magic and study this year?

Collin: Hello! Aren’t you the famous Harry Potter? I study in Griffindor just like you! Can I take your picture?

Harry: Yes, sure. (неохотно)

Ron: You like photography?

Collin: I love it! My camera is always with me!

Через зал входят Джинни и Кейти.

Ron: Look! My little sister Ginny and her friend Katie have arrived!

Katie: Hello, Harry, Ron. How was your summer!

Harry: Great.

Ginny: Oh, look, what a beautiful old notebook. (поднимает с пола тетрадь)

Katie: It is somebody’s diary. But it is… empty. What a pity!

Появляются Драко Малфой, его друзья. (танец факультетов/батл)

Draco: Ha-ha-ha! Stupid Ron Weasley! Your parents are so poor that they can’t buy you a new wand! Ha-ha-ha!

Ron: Eat slugs!

Но попадает в себя и выплевывает червяка

Входят Дамблдор, МакГонагалл, Снейп, Локхарт, Люциус Малфой с Добби.

Dumbledore: Good morning! Professor McGonagall, how are you? Professor Snape, how were your holidays? Professor Malfoy, haven’t seen you for ages! Professor Lockhart, we are glad to have you in Hogwarts again! Dear students! Let me introduce you our new professor, Gilderoy Lockhart. He will teach Defense against the Dark Arts.

Lockhart: First I’d like to introduce myself. Me, Gilderoy Lockhart, Order of Merlin, Third Class, Honourary Member of the Dark Force Defense League and Five times winner of Weekly’s Most-Charming-Smile Award! I am the bravest hero, who fought with the most  dangerous monsters. You can read about it in my books.

Хагрид входит с книгами, девочки берут себе.

Lockhart: Oh, isn’t this the famous Harry Potter! Let’s take a picture together! Together you and I are worth the front page! Nice big smile, Harry!

Криви фотографирует их, Гарри делает это нехотя.

Lockhart: And now, ladies and gentlemen, follow me and I’ll sign your books. (За ним убегают девочки, МакГонагалл)

Lucius Malfoy: Professor McGonagall!? What a surprise!

Профессора переглядываются и, пожав плечами насчет МакГонагалл, уходят.

Scene 2

Входит мадам Спраут с мандрагорами.

Madam Sprout: Good morning, dear children! I am Madam Sprout. I will tell you all about plants, herbs, flowers and secret mixtures.

Students: Good morning!

Madam Sprout: Today we are going to work with mandragoras. But be careful: they are very loud! Look!

Достает одну мандрагору, та начинает пищать. Друг Драко падает в обморок.

Student 1: Oh, I can’t stand it! It’s so loud!

Madam Sprout: See, I told you! Hagrid, let’s take them outside!

Все уходят, возвращается Джинни и садится на край сцены.

Ginny: This book is empty. I know! It can be my diary! My name is Ginny Weasley.

Tom Riddle  (за сценой):  Nice to meet you, Ginny!

Ginny: Oh my! Who is this?

Tom Riddle: I am Tom Riddle! This is my diary. We can be friends, Ginny! I can tell you plenty of things about Hogwarts and magic!

Ginny: I don’t know…

Tom Riddle: Don’t be afraid! Come, come with me!

Завороженная Джинни уходит за сцену. На сцене появляется и крадется кошка мистера Филча, делает сальто под музыку. Шипение, в зеркале появляются светящиеся глаза Василдиска, кошка падает и замирает.

Входят Гарри, Рон и Гермиона.

Hermione: Look! It is Missis Norris! It’s Filch’s cat!

Ron: Is she dead?!

Harry (приседает к кошке): I think it is dead!

С другой стороны появляются Филч, МакГонагалл, Дамблдор.

Filch: My poor cat! Harry Potter! What have you done! You’ve killed my dear Missis Norris!

McGonagall: Potter! How could you!? And look at the wall! What is written there?

На стене написано кровью The Chamber of Secrets has been opened. Enemies of Slytherin Heir, Beware!

Dumbledore: Don’t panic! I have seen this before! She is not dead, she is frozen. I hope Mrs. Pomfrey can cure her!

Уносят кошку.

Harry: I didn’t do it! But everybody will think that I am a monster!

Hermione: I think we should go to Moaning Myrtle. Maybe, she has seen who did it to the cat. Her toilet is right there

Ron: How can we, boys, go to girls toilet?

Hermione: Don’t worry! It’s been out-of-order for a long time cause Moaning Myrtle lives there. (уходят)

SCENE 3

Туалет Плачущей Миртл: несколько нарисованных раковин. “Выплывает” девочка в белом – привидение Плачущей Миртл.

Myrtle: (плача) Nobody likes me! Everybody lies to me! Behind my back they call me fat Myrtle! Ugly Myrtle! Miserable, moaning, moping Myrtle! O-o-oh!

Hermione: Hello, Myrtle! How are you?

Myrtle: They are not girls! They can’t be here!

Hermione: But I just wanted to show them how – er – nice it is in here…

Harry: (громким шепотом Гермионе) Ask her if she saw anything…

Myrtle: What are you whispering?

Harry: Nothing…

Myrtle: I wish people would stop talking behind my back. I do have feelings though I – I’m dead.

Hermione: Myrtle, no one wants to upset you! We’d like to ask you if you saw anything strange tonight, maybe you know who attacked the cat…

Myrtle: I wasn’t paying attention; I was crying… (громко плачет)

Hermione: Let’s go! Good bye, Myrtle! It was very kind of you to talk to us. (уходят)

Scene 4

На сцену входят дети, они напуганы.

Student 2: Harry Potter killed Mr. Filch’s cat!

Student 3: No! He couldn’t! It couldn’t be him!

Draco Malfoy: He did it! He is a monster!

Draco’s friends: Yes, he is!

Dobby: Harry Potter bad! Ugly! Disgusting! Stupid!

Входят Гарри, Рон и Гермиона.

Hermione: Hurry! We’d better get to Duelling Club now!

Входят Дамблдор, Снейп и Локхарт.

Hermione: I wonder who’ll be teaching.    Появляется проф. Локхарт.

Harry: (замечая проф. Локхарта) Oh, no!

Входят проф. Дамблдор и проф. МакГонагалл.

Prof. L.: Thanks a lot, that you let me start this little Duelling Club to train our students. (отходит в сторону, к нему подбегают девочки)

Prof. McG. (to Prof. D.): I think it could be rather useful… And who will be his assistant?

Prof. McG.: I’ve heard Prof. Snape will.

Prof. D.: Oh, that’s good. In that case I won’t worry – Prof. Snape is so skillful! So, Minerva, I have to go… But I ask you to monitor the situation. (уходит)     Появляется проф. Снэйп.

Prof. L.: Gather round, gather round! Can everyone see me? Can you all hear me? Excellent! On the count of three, we will cast our first spells. (раскланивается с проф. Снэйпом, затем они расходятся и начинают медленно сходиться, направив волшебные палочки друг на друга)

Prof. McG.: One, two, three!

Prof. Snape: Expelliarmus! (хлопок)

Проф. Локхарт подскакивает и падает.

Prof. L.: (поднимаясь) Oh, I have lost my wand! It was excellent, professor Snape! But I could stop you, of course. Enough demonstrating!

Prof. Snape: Let’s have a volunteer pair. How about Malfoy and Potter?

Prof. L.: Excellent idea!

Малфой и Гарри приветствуют друг друга волшебными палочками и расходятся.

Malfoy: Scared?

Harry: You wish!

Проф. Снэйп шепчет что-то Малфою.

Prof. L.: Three, two, one – go!

Malfoy: (раньше времени) Serpensortia! (хлопок)

Из коробки появляется громадная кобра.

Prof. Snape: Don’t move, Potter! I’ll kill it…

Змея грозно нависает над Колином, сидящим на корточках с фотоаппаратом. Гарри идёт к змее и шипит.

Harry: Schhhh… (звучат записанные из фильма слова Гарри на змеином языке. Змея, покачиваясь, опускается в коробку)

Prof. Snape: Escapalus! (Змея исчезает)

Все с ужасом смотрят на Гарри. Проф. Снэйп поворачивает его к себе за плечи, пристально глядя в лицо.

Prof. McG.: Harry? What have you said?

Prof. Snape: He can talk to snakes like Salasar Slytherin. It’s very strange…

Harry: I can do what?

Ron: You can talk to snakes!

Harry: So? I bet loads of people here can do it.

Ron: Oh, no! They can’t. It’s not a very common gift, Harry. This is bad!

Hermione: because this was what Salasar Slytherin was famous for.

Ron: And now the whole school’s going to think you’re his great-great-great-grandson or something!

Harry: But I’m not!

Hermione:  He lived a thousand years ago and so you could be his heir. (уходят)

Scene 5

На сцене появляется надпись.

Выходит Колин и пытается сфотографировать надпись, но видит святящиеся глаза и падает. С двух сторон появляются Малфой и друзья и другие ученики. Они видят тело Колина и надпись.

Student 4: Oh, poor Colin!

Student 5: Is he dead!

Malfoy: Enemies of the heir beware! You’ll be next, Mudbloods! Fantastic! Brilliant! It was Harry Potter again.

Goyle: Yes, it was him! He hates Collin, because he always took pictures of him.

Crabb: And he attacked him! Potter is a monster!

Student 6: Madam Pomfrey! Madam Pomfrey! Please, come quick!

Madam Pomfrey: Not again! Who does it to our students?

Student 5: It’s Harry Potter. He is Slytherin Heir. He will kill us all!

На сцене появляется напуганная Джинни.

Ginny: It’s all my fault. It’s terrible. Poor Collin! I wrote these terrible words! Tom! I don’t want to be your friend anymore! Bye forever! (кидает дневник)

Tom Riddle: Too late! Come with me!

Утаскивает ее со сцены, она плачет и сопротивляется.

Scene 6

Выбегают Кэти и Гермиона.

Katie: There’s something strange about Ginny! Suddenly she has become like, like a doll, or a robot. She didn’t answer my questions and ran away. I’m so frightened!

Hermione: Where did she run?

Katie: Right upstairs.

Hermione: To Myrtle’s bathroom? It’s awful! Quickly run for Harry and Ron, and I’ll try to find her. Let’s go and see.

Scene 7

Плачущая Миртл выходит из-за плаката с раковиной.

Hermione: What’s up Myrtle?

Myrtle: Who’s that? Come to throw something else at me?

Harry: Why would I throw something at you?

Myrtle: Let’s all throw books at Myrtle, because she can’t feel it! What a lovely game!

Гарри поднимает дневник, который бросила Джинни.

Harry: It’s empty, except for the name, Tom Riddle.

Ron: I know that name! He disappeared from Hogwarts 50 years ago.

Hermione: The Chamber of Secrets was opened fifty years ago.

Ron: Who threw it to you, Myrtle?

Myrtle: I don’t know. I was just sitting and thinking about death … It happened fifty years ago. I was sitting and crying here, because they had been laughing at me. Somebody threw this book… And then I just remember seeing a pair of great big yellow eyes.

Harry: Where exactly did you see the eyes?

Myrtle: Somewhere there, from this mirror, I think.

Hermione: Thanks a lot, Myrtle.

Harry: Let’s break this mirror and find the monster!

Scene 8

Звук бьющегося зеркала. На сцене появляется Джинни. Она пятится задом (она видит Василиска) и падает без сознания. Вбегают Рон, Гермиона и Гарри.

Hermione: It’s Ginny. She is frozen, too!

Ron: Oh, my poor sister!

Harry: Take her to the Hospital now or she will die!

Гермиона и Рон успевают подхватить Джинни, но тут на сцене появляется Василиск.

Harry: Oh, well, I will kill you! (Направляет волшебную палочку на Василиска) How did Professor Snape kill that snake? I remember! Escapalus! 

Выходит Том Рэдл и хлопает Гарри Поттеру.

Tom: Harry Potter? I’ve been waiting for you. I’m Tom Riddle. And you’re dead, Harry Potter. Even if you have killed Basilisk, you are going to die

Harry: So it was your idea? There isn’t any Slytherin Heir.

Tom: Now I’m an only a memory from the diary, but after Ginny’s death, I’ll once again be Lord Voldemort, I’ll take all her strength.

Harry: Diary! You are from the diary. (рвет дневник)

Tom: No! Don’t touch it! A-a-a! (падает)

Прибегают ученики, учителя, Рон и Гермиона.

Student 7: Where is Basilisk?

Student 8: And where is Riddle?

Harry: Riddle’s finished! And Basilisk is finished too! Звучит весёлая музыка. Появляются все участники пьесы, окружают Гарри и его друзей, поздравляют их. Общий поклон.
