Цель: обобщить и расширить представление учащихся о величайших достопримечательностях Лондона средствами английского языка. Задачи: 1) Развивать навыки устной речи на основе информации о Лондоне.
2) Активизировать лексические навыки по данной тематике.
3) Развивать языковую догадку на основе незнакомых слов.
4) Развитие памяти, внимания, логического мышления

London is the capital of Great Britain, its political, economic and cultural centre. It is situated on the river Thames. London is one of the largest cities in the world. It's population is more than 9 million people. London was founded more then twenty centuries ago.
BIG BEN
The famous clock Big Ben stands near the Houses of Parliament. It is really a very big bell. You can hear it every hour. Big Ben weighs(весит) 13,720 kilograms.
Tourists in London always want to visit Big Ben!
The TOWER
You can see the Tower of London from the river Thames. It is a very big castle(замок). It is a very old place in London. The tall building is the White Tower. The Bloody Tower is near the river. The Tower is a museum now.
The ravens are another famous sight. The legend says that without them the Tower will fall.
TOWER BRIDGE
Tower Bridge is one of the oldest bridges in
London. It is over a hundred years old.
Buckingham palace
It is the London home of the Queen. When the flag is flying on the top she is at home. There are 600 rooms in it.

Changing of the Guard happens every day at 11 a.m.
Trafalgar Square
It is the popular place for people to meet. In the middle of the square there is Nelson's Column, which is 51 m high. To the left you can see the National Gallery. It has a fine collection of European paintings.
Westminster Abbey
It is a symbol of England. The legend says that Westminster Abbey was founded by St. Peter (святой Петр) himself.
