Цели: расширение знаний учащихся о культурных традициях страны изучаемого языка.

Задачи: Познакомить учащихся с особенностями традиций празднования Рождества в Великобритании. Учить употреблять новую лексику в речи. Активизировать имеющиеся знания учащихся по теме "Праздники и традиции Великобритании".

Оборудование: компьютер, экран, проектор для показа презентации, колонки, презентация, распечатанные задания. Аудиозаписи “Jingle Bells,” Happy New Year”, “Last Christmas”, “Let it snow”, “We wish you a merry Christmas”.

Teacher : Good afternoon, dear friends! On the 25^th of December British people celebrate Christmas – a beautiful holiday, which is loved by children and adults. Everything is decorated with lights and toys. We see Christmas trees everywhere. People buy presents and cook special food, send cards and have parties. Today we’ll have an English contest – all the tasks will be connected with Christmas. We’ll learn new facts about Christmas, recite poems and sing songs. So, we hope that you’ll enjoy this holiday, and have a good time. Let’s start with a well-known song “Jingle bells”. Let’s sing altogether. (Звучит мелодия песни, участники поют 1-й куплет и припев. На экране на фоне картинки изображен текст песни)
