A.      The Bolshoi Theatre is a historic theatre in Moscow. Before the October Revolution it was a part of the Imperial Theatres of the Russian Empire along with the Maly Theatre (Small Theatre) in Moscow and a few theatres in Saint Petersburg.

B.      The Bolshoi is a repertory theatre, meaning that it draws from a list of productions, any one of which may be performed on a given evening. It normally introduces two to four new ballet or opera productions each season and puts a similar number on hold.

C.      The Bolshoi Theatre is world-famous and attracts large numbers of tourists. Concerts and operas are still relatively affordable, with prices ranging from 100 rubles (for students, for balcony seats) to 15,000 rubles (for seats in the orchestra or stalls).

D.      You can find on the shelves of the theatre's shop a lot of goods such as porcelain and T-shirts, magnets and postcards. You can buy any pleasant gift to remember your visit to the Bolshoi Theatre. You can get into the shop through the entrance 9-a.

E.      There are theatre tours in Russian and English which are held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Tours are one-hour-long. Tour groups are limited to a maximum of 20 people.

A lake is a large body of water within a body of land. As a lake is separated from the ocean, it is not a sea. Some lakes are very big, and people in the past sometimes called them seas. Lakes do not flow like rivers, but many have rivers flowing into and out of them.

Most lakes on the surface of the Earth are fresh water and most are in the Northern Hemisphere.

Many lakes are man-made reservoirs built to produce electricity, for recreation, or to use the water for irrigation or industry, or in houses. Where the water evaporates rapidly and the soil around the lake has a high salt level, as in very dry places, the water of the lake has a high concentration of salt and the lake is called a salt lake. Examples of salt lakes are the Great Salt Lake, the Caspian Sea, the Aral Sea, and the Dead Sea.
