Ход урока
T.Good morning, children! I am glad to see you!
Ps
– So we are.
T.
– Today we are going to discuss the problem of
environmental protection. But to begin lesson
I’d like you to recite a poem about Russia.
P
.:
Oh, Russia, I’m in love with you!
Remember, Russia, you are great
Not in the field of battles past
But in the lush green fields of wheat
And forests, gardens, free of dust.
I love you deeply, dear land,
Your lakes with shores of fine sand,
Your rivers, valleys, hills and seas;
Your songs and dances; birds in trees;
Your sunrise is a splendid sight
Which always gives me such delight!
T
.: Now children, I’d like to ask you the most
important questions of our lesson: Do you like
our town and our district? Do you want to see
our town clean and tidy?
P.
: Oh, yes, we do. There are many beautiful
cities and towns in the world. I’d like to visit one
of them. But there is no place like home. I love
my Native town. I was born here and Live with
my parents. It’s not the capital, but it is a
wonderful place to live. My town is old and
modern at the same time. It is old because it
was founded in 1863.
I live in the main street. It is the widest street in
my town. A lot of cars, buses run fast along it. If
you want to see the places of interest in our
town, you can walk along the main street. It
leads to the main square. It will be a short trip
but you can see a lot: a cinema, a park and
museums. There is only one church in our
town. Every morning and evening we can hear
the sound of the bells. And I want to see my
town clean and tidy. A warm Abinsk welcome
you.
T
.: Thank you. Tell me, please what does the
word “environment” mean to you?P.
: To my mind it means – oceans, rivers, seas,
lakes, forests and animals.
P.:
And I think it means – oceans, rivers, seas,
lakes, forests, animals, cars, plants and cities.
P
.: But it seems to me it means – oceans, rivers,
seas, lakes, forests, animals, cars, plants and
cities, people and me.
T.:
Thank you, I agree with you. You know that
people all over the world are worried about our
environment. The issue of ecology is important.
Our district is nice and beautiful. It is large. But
there are some ecological problems in our
district too.
P.
: I am sorry but not long ago our district was
clean and healthy but now we have the same
ecological problems as all over the world. The
main ones are:
(Учащиеся называют основные
экологические проблемы при помощи
метода “ мозгового штурма”)
– litter is not reused or recycled;
– the air is poisoned by cars;
P
.: I think that litter is the most complicated
problem. In our district there are not enough
special litter stations to reuse and recycle it. In
our ton there are few litter bins. That is why you
can see a lot of litter everywhere.
P.
: And all the forest visitors should keep to these
rules to protect forests and woods:
– don’t cut young trees;
– don’t break the branches of trees and bushes;
– don’t drop litter or leave it in the forest;
– don’t leave the campfire burning near a heap
of dry leaves. And have you ever seen a forest
destroyed by fire?
P
.: Oh, yes. That’s an awful thing to see.
Campers must always remember to put out
their campfire and cover the place with earth. Itis the duty of every camper to take the greatest
care not to start a forest fire.
P
.: I fully agree with you. The forests are in
danger. They are disappearing, fast not only
because of fires. Every day we use paper made
from wood.
P
.: I am afraid our river has some problems too.
The water is polluted. Some years ago our river
Abinka was such a pretty place to sit on its
bank on a hot summer day.
P.:But today the situation is quite different, isn’t
it?
P
.: Yes, people throw tins and waste paper into
it. Did you see what colour the water in Abinka
was?
P.
:Yes. The water is not clean but brown. Nothing
can live or grow in this polluted water.
P.
: And I want to say that when I went with
parents to the seaside last summer. I was
surprised that the water was not blue but brown
with rubbish floating in it. How awful!
P
.: I’d like to tell you about our park. Our park
was founded in 19 It is laid out to mark the
anniversary of Great Patriotic War by old and
young people of our town. To tell the truth this
park is well looked after by boys and girls of our
school. That’s great!
T.
: Thank you very much. Now, children, tell me,
please briefly the main problems in our town.
What are they?
P.: –
Flowers are pulled out.
– Litter is left.
– The water is polluted.
– Fires are started.
– Trees are cut down.
– Birds and animals are frightened.
– The air is polluted.
T.: You are right. All these problems are very
important. Please look at the map. The pictures
show some environmental problems of our
district. As these problems are global, I want
you to discuss them.
(Учащиеся высказывают свое мнение по
теме, используя карту)
P.
: I want to be the first. If we don’t recycle paper,
a lot of trees are destroyed. The countryside is
spoiled. People cut down trees. If trees are
destroyed and people pick flowers and grass,
birds and animals may become extinct.
PEOPLE, DON’T HARM PLANTS!
P
.: We leave litter near the river. The water is
polluted and the fish in the river die. The
cleaning structures don’t work well. PEOPLE,
HELP TO KEEP ALL WATER CLEAN!
P
.: Many years ago the Abinka was deep and
wide. People used to fish a lot. But some things
that they use for fishing kill animals. PEOPLE,
PROTECT ANIMALS AND FISH!
P.:
We should keep Abinski district tidy. It is our
home. It’s wonderful to drink some spring water
on a hot summer day. PEOPLE, CLEAN
SPRINS!
P.:
You can see different kinds of trees and flowers
in the meadows near our town. But today they
are disappearing. We must protect nature.
PEOPLE, PLANT TREES AND FLOWERS!
P
.: There are many animals and birds in our
district. We should not make unnecessary
noise. Don’t be as scary as Cruella Devil from
101 Dalmatians. She is a very, very nasty
woman. She hates dogs and makes fur coats
out of them. Do you want to be like her? If you
don’t remember these words.
PEOPLE, TAKE CARE OF BIRDS AND
ANIMALS!
P
.: Every spring I see rubbish near our town. I
think that our people do it. They throw away old
things, paper, clothes, toys and plastic bottles.
Maybe they don’t know the 3R rules: reduce,
reuse and recycle. It’s a pity! PEOPLE, TAKE LITTER HOME!
T.
: Now, let’s listen and read the text. Rob is
telling about the environment in his country/ Do
you remember Rob?...So try to get as much
information as possible. You have some
minutes.
OK. First of all, I want you to find the words with
prefix re– (recycle, reuse). Tell me, please, how
do people in England protect the environment?
Why do they do it?
P.
: In England people never forget to turn off
lights and water, because water, heating and
electricity are expensive!
P.
: People sort their rubbish, because they want
to help the environment.
P.
: Nobody drops litter, because they have to pay
a fine.
P.
: Nobody wars fur coats because it is not cold. If
you wear a fur coat, sometimes people from
Greenpeace spray your coat with paint.
T.
: Thank you. And how can you help the
environment? What can you save?
P
.: If I sort my rubbish, I can save the
environment.
P.
: If I reuse my old exercise books, I can save
the forests.
P
.: If I don’t wear a fur coat, I can save the
animals.
P.
: If I always turn water off, I can save the
oceans, seas and rivers.
T.
: We’ve already spoken about ecology and the
importance of keeping the environment clean.
Pollution is getting worse and worse. But there
is always hope. And I think we have to do
something about this. Let us set up our own
“Greenpeace Society for Children”.P.
: Oh, I think the idea of starting up a clean up
the countryside society for children is great.
People have lived on our planet for many years.
They lived and live on different continents and
in different countries. People depend on their
planet, on the sun, on animals and plants
around them. So we must protect our planet.
P.
: We would like to join this society.
P.
: We could design posters telling people about
ecological problems.
T
.:OK. Children look at these posters and try to
suggest important rules to these posters. I’ll
give you some minutes.
P.
: Do not pick wild flowers.
P.
: Do not litter the ground with tins, paper and
bottles.
P.
: Do not frighten animals.
P
.: Do not harm plants.
P
.: Feed birds and help them.
P.
: Plant trees and flowers.
P.:
Recycle used materials such as metal, bottles
and paper.
P
.: Clean rivers and springs.
P.
: I could design posters telling people about
ecological problems of the day and put them all
over the countryside and one of them will be
this one. (Показывает плакат)
“Abinsk is the garden city of Krasnodar region –
keep it clean and green!”
P.:
We must all strive for the clean environment.P.
: I am glad to hear and I think we all agree. But
there is a good saying: you needn’t strive for
cleanliness, you should take a broom and
sweep your street.
P.
: Well, where is my broom? Am I start sweeping
the street just now?
P.
: Yes, you are.
T.:
OK! OK! I’ll give you such an opportunity after
our lesson. Children at all times our famous
artists often turned to nature for inspiration.
Look, what a wonderful landscape! Tell me,
please, who painted the picture?
P.:
To my mind Repin did.
P.
: No I don’t agree with…It seems to me
Shishkin did. “The PineTrees in the Sunlight”. It
is a real masterpiece.
T.:
You are right and I quite agree with you…has
read about this painter. She’ll tell us about him.
P.
: As you know Shishkin is one of Russia’s
outstanding landscape painters. He was fond of
Russian nature. And I should say, he had an
instinctive feeling for nature. The picture looks
very realistic, doesn’t it? I think I get an
impression that you in this wood yourself. He
shows the moment when the first rays of sun
are breaking through.
T.
: Well done! Thank you. To my mind the forest
is waking up from its sleep. Well, and who has
seen famous pictures about nature in an
original?
P.
: I visited the Tretyakov Gallery last summer.
T.
: How did you like your visit to the Tretyakov
Gallery?
P.: Oh, I enjoyed it. I liked one picture there. It is
called “Before the Rain”. To my mind the
landscape in the picture looks very romantic.
T.
: Thank you. And can we allow to die such
beauty?
P.
: No, we can’t. I have learned a very good poem
about nature “You and Mine”. Shall I recite?
T.:
Yes, of course.
P.
:
The sun, the trees, the grass, the sky,
The silver moon that’s sailing by,
The rain and dew and snowflakes
white,
The flowers sweet and stars of night.
The song of birds, wind whispering
Such lovely things to bear and see
Belong to you belong to me.
I agree with the author of this poem. Because
about two hundred years ago man loved in
greater harmony with his environment. But
today the situation is quite different.
T.
: Thank you, children. Now it is time to make a
Green Tree. I want you to use the tree leaf and
write a promise. Collect all your tree leaves and
make a Green Tree. Read your promises.

land clean. Let’s take care of our town.
