Beginning of the Lesson 5 min. |
Teacher ask students come closer to the demo table and demonstrate them a circuit which shown in the circuit and ask them what happens to the bulb when the switch is in position 2:
After a demonstration teacher ask them why this happened? What is a device which makes bulb light? After a small discussion teacher ask them if they want to know more about this device. Teacher introduce students with the topic of the lesson and LO.

The teacher ask students, by working in groups, do the READING task and prepare a poster presentation about the capacitors. Students work in pairs or group of 3 and start investigate their question: Group Task 1.What is a capacitor? How does it made up? Types of capacitors (by shape) 2. How a capacitor works in a circuit 3. Capacitance. Units of the capacitance. 4. Capacitance depends on geometry and insulation 5. Application of the capacitor
Teacher give students printed papers and go around the class and answer to their questions or help with translation and direct them.
When time is up. Group #1 start to present their topic.
After teacher demonstrate them capacitor which are available in physics lab. Teacher ask other groups if the first group presentation is clear or not and let group 2 present their topic which is about the working principle of the capacitor
After their presentation teacher demonstrate them a circuit with the capacitor in it and students can measure the voltage across the plates of the capacitor by using a voltmeter. Teacher ask group 3 come to board and present their topic
Teacher complete students answers at the end ask students to solve a problem: 1. A capacitor that has air between its plates is connected across a potential difference of 12.0V and stores 48.0mC of charge. What is the capacitance of the capacitor? Give your answer in μF Teacher ask students if they have any questions and ask group 4 present their topic While students presenting teacher demonstrate them dependence of the capacitance on geometry and the insulator between plates by using a phetcolarado simulation: At the end students solve a problem: 2. We have a parallel
plate capacitor constructed of two parallel plates, each with area Group 5 present their idea about application of capacitors:

Differentiation - how do you plan to provide more support? What tasks do you plan to set for more capable students? |
Grading - how do you plan to check students' level of learning? |
Health &
Safety |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Support is planned through small group work with text. When preparing speeches, students will teach each other, and telling their classmates will consolidate the knowledge gained. Through mutual evaluation, they will be able to give each other recommendations for improving the understanding of the material. |
Through the individual filling of the table with the subsequent discussion. |
Creating a favorable psychological atmosphere, the compliance of tasks to the level of preparedness of students, the change of activities, counseling. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
What tasks do you plan to set for more capable students? |
Providing advice to students who have difficulty |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Students will: Most students will: Some learners will be: |
- Define capacitor and name the structural components of the capacitor; - Describe the working principal of the capacitor; - Define capacitance .know its units and use its equation to solve problems; - Analyze how capacitance depends on geometry and insulation between parallel plates; - Solve problems by using the parallel plate capacitor formula; - Be able give examples of using of capacitors. |
