 Long-term plan unit:  Direct current School: Date: Teacher name: Grade: 10 Number present: absent: Theme of the lesson Internal resistance of the source Learning objectives(s) that this lesson is contributing to 10.3.2.1 to explain the definition of internal resistance Lesson objectives  Based on the experiment on the measurements of the voltage analyze the influence of the internal resistance on voltmeter readings in a closed circuit  Develop attention, the ability to creatively and logically analyze experimental data, collect electrical circuit Assessment criteria Students will achieve the goal if they know the influence of the internal resistance on the voltage drop across the battery; describe the reason that battery has an internal resistance; evaluate the better case of being low or high internal resistance; Language goals: `Key terms and concepts:``operation of external forces, external and internal resistance, external and internal circuit phase, electromotive force of the current source, Ohm's law for the circuit phase and for the entire circuit.` Previous learning Grade 8: sources of direct current; the electric current; the electrical elements and their notation; series and parallel connection of conductors; Course of the lesson Planned timings Planned activities at the lesson Resources Beginning 5 min Organizational moment (W) Introduction of the lesson theme and the LO of the lesson; Starter activity: In order to revise last topic teacher ask student questions and they answer them orally. REVISION QUESTIONS: 1. What is an E.M.F.? 2. What does mean 1.5V written on a cover of the battery? 3. What is the unit of E.M.F.? 4. What is the formula for the E.M.F? Aim of this activity is to focus student attention on new lesson and revise the last topic. slides Middle 10 min                                                                 10 min             13 min The main part of the lesson starts with the practical task. Students will be given all the materials and equipment and their task is to investigate the voltmeter reading in different cases. First teacher discuss with students safety rules during working with electric circuit. After this teacher divide the class into 4 small groups and each group provided with the needed staff and worksheet. Students discuss in their groups and read the worksheet and get familiar with the procedures of the practical task. Groups perform laboratory work, analyze the data and draw the appropriate conclusions. In order to verify their answers groups watch a video  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k077CwKGiwk clip and discuss their answers. It is important to yell them before they start watching a video that they should start watch from 8.30 min up to 17.00 min. After this activity a whole class discussion takes place. Groups share with their answers one by one. Teacher ask questions and complete their answers by discussing with them the reason why internal resistance is exist in a e.m.f. source, the case when the internal resistance is zero, internal resistance of some batteries  etc. Ppt slides                   hangouts End 2 min Reflection.
