Скупых хозяев высмеивают и грозят им бедами. В процессиях участвуют различные маски, ряженые в шкуры животных, это действо сопровождается шумным весельем.

Православное Рождество отмечается 7 января. Католики же отмечают этот праздник 25 декабря.
Главный герой католического праздника - Санта-Клаус вместе со своими друзьями эльфами и оленями - должен обязательно в рождественскую ночь принести подарки.
В православном же Рождестве другой герой - Дед Мороз и сопровождают его не эльфы, а внучка Снегурочка. Но он также дарит подарки, радуя детей и взрослых.
Подарки в России, в отличие от Великобритании, принято складывать под ёлку.

Рождество празднуют в России и Великобритании, но религия этих стран разная – православная и католическая;
Летоисчисление ведётся от Рождества Христова, но в России Новый Год отмечается шире;
История праздника одинаковая в России и Великобритании, а традиции разные.
