Имена прилагательные в английском
языке имеют три степени сравнения:
положительную
(the Positive Degree),
сравнительную
(the Comparative Degree)
превосходную
(the Superlative Degree).

прилагательных

В написании удваивается конечная
согласная буква, если односложное
прилагательное оканчивается на одну
согласную с предшествующим кратким
гласным звуком:
hot hotter the hottest
big bigger – the biggest
fat fatter the fattest
happy – happier – the happiest
sunny – sunnier – the sunniest
hungry – hungrier – the hungriest
dirty – dirtier – the dirtiest
Конечная гласная е опускается
перед еr, est:
large larger – the largest
white whiter – the whitest
nice – nicer the nicest
wide – wider – the widest
