Greeting learners: Hello! How are you?
Teacher asks students to greet each other and ask their
peers “How are you?”
Teacher introduces lesson objectives to the students.
Show a video “Future plans” and ask learners to guess the
topic of the lesson? (Professions)
Ask what jobs are they talking about?
Presentation of the new vocabulary:
Activity 1: Brainstorm around the word “Professions”.
Task: name all the professions you know.
Activity 2: Introducing the vocabulary.
Learners are going to learn the new words.

Activity 3: Guess the word (Comprehension).
Learners are going to play the game “Guess the word”.
Task: mime/ give the definition of the words for others to guess.

For weaker learners the teacher gives the task to mime the word.
For more able learners – to give the definition.
Formative Assessment:
Teacher hands out each learner worksheet 1.
Allow learners time to match the words.

Activity 4: “Guess my job”
Learners are going to hear a radio quiz programme called
“Guess my job”. There are three contestants who can ask
ten questions and then have to guess the mystery guest’s
job.
Task: listen to a radio quiz programme and try to understand:

Look through the questions
Try to understand unknown words from the pictures and the
content.
Listen to the 1st part of the programme and underline the
questions you hear (10 questions)
Peer and group assessment.
Check the task with the peers of your group.
Check the task with the whole class.
Teacher asks learners about Phil’s answer and elicit that
he can only answer yes, no or it depends.
Listen again and write the answers Y, N, D after each question.
Check answers.

the learners into groups of four like in the radio
programme one guest and three contestants.
