The history of the house of pioneers in Chernogorsk The history of the house of pioneers in Chernogorsk began in 1946, when miners and residents decided to build on the site of the old wooden building a new spacious building for children's artistic and technical creativity. Krasnoyarsk architects designed the new house of pioneers. The construction wаs ended in 1954.The building was built in the style of" Stalin's Empire " and was a model of Soviet monumental classicism, becoming one of the architectural attractions of Chernogorsk and all Khakassia. In the 1970-s the number of pupils of the Palace of pioneers reached 5 thousand. From morning till late evening children here studied to sing, dance, were engaged in different sports, prepared festive programmes. In 1999, the building was damaged and children had to leave it. The pioneer house was sold to a private owner, who soon laid this architectural monument in the Bank on one of the loans. Former House of Pioneers, left without supervision and care for15 years, fell into decay and was destroyed. Recently, thebuilding and the surrounding area resembled scenery for shooting horror movies. Though earlier around the house of Pioneers there was a well-groomed garden with fruit trees, flower beds and sculptures. In 2013 there was an idea to restore the house of pioneers in the same quality, giving it the status of a monument of historical and cultural heritage. But the building was in pledge at one of banks, and the municipality couldn't redeem it in city property.After a series of publications in the local media, residents created an initiative group and advocated the restoration of a unique building. The city officials supported the ideа , but immediately said thаt there wаsn’t enough money in the local budget funds for reconstruction . Recently there was a hope for revival of the house of Pioneers with the help of the Federal centre.
