Since 2007 high-speed trains have become a common type of transport in Europe. They make it possible to cut travel times by hours. The trains travel at 350 kilometres an hour, and this is not the limit! The only problem for the engineers is the loud noise the trains produce. People living in the areas the trains travel through suffer from the noise greatly. For the passengers, the situation is different. For their comfort, all the carriages are made sound-proof from the inside. Travelling on high-speed trains is comfortable and pleasant. In the future, a high-speed railroad network could cover most of Europe. For example, a trip from Paris to Rome could take only 3 hours!

1.        How much time do you spend on the Internet every day?

I use the Internet every day for at least an hour. (I spend one or two hours a day surfing the Internet).

2.        What do you use the Internet for?

 I use the Internet to get information. It helps me with my homework. In my free time I like sharing photos with my friends and downloading movies. (downloading some music, playing games)

(I often browse the Internet to find necessary information for my studies.)

3.        What do you do in Information Technology or Computer Study lessons?

In our computer class we learn how to write computer programs, watch videos and play games as part of our lessons.

4.        Why are computer skills useful for everyone?

You can do almost everything with the help of a computer.  For example, using a computer is a very useful way to study because you have all the information you need from the Internet at your finger tips.

5.        What would you recommend to a person who spends too much time on the Internet?

I think you shouldn’t spend too much time sitting in front of the computer screen. This is very unhealthy and, as a result, you may become overweight.

6.        Why do young people spend so much time on the Internet now?

Young people can spend all day on the Internet because everything is on it. They can watch films, play games and read about their favourite pop stars. There are also social networks such as Facebook and Twitter. Teenagers can spend hours chatting to their friends.

I’d like to give a talk about weather and seasons. There are four seasons in a year. They are winter, spring, summer and autumn.

My favourite season is winter because everything is beautiful when it snows. Besides, I can do lots of things in winter. My friends and I often go to the park and make a snowman. At the weekend, my family and I go skiing in the mountains. Winter is fantastic. It makes me feel happy.

             (My favourite season is spring because the weather is usually warm and sunny. Besides, in spring, I can spend a lot of time outdoors. I often ride my bicycle and play with my friends in the park. The countryside is lovely in spring, so my family and I often go on picnics on Sundays. I love spring. It makes me feel happy and energetic.)

In the morning, I swim in the sea and make sandcastles on the beach. In the afternoon, I go on picnics or ride my bicycle. I love summer. It makes me feel happy and relaxed.)

 (My favourite season is autumn because it’s cool and the trees change colour. Besides, in autumn, my mother always buys me a new bag, because school starts in September. My father collects the leaves from the garden. Sometimes I help him after school. At the weekends we often visit my grandmother. I like autumn very much. It makes me feel relaxed and happy.)

The way people live has changed the climate on our planet. Nowadays the temperature is rising. As a result, we do not have real Russian winter in Moscow any more. We also have more and more extreme and unpredictable weather such as heavy rain and snow, storms, heatwaves, droughts, more powerful hurricanes and tornadoes.

Speaking about weather forecasts, I want to say that I usually trust them because they use scientific methods to predict the weather. Of course, there are some mistakes. But most of the time predictions come true.

All in all, we must protect life on Earth and save our planet for the future.
