ТЕМА: «В гостях хорошо, а дома лучше»

Цели:

1)    активизировать навыки коммуникативного общения учащихся в применении изученного языкового материала; научить учащихся составлять и презентовать проект по теме «Мой дом»;

2)    воспитывать умения работать в одной команде для достижения ситуации успеха каждого участника творческого процесса.

Оборудование: мультимедийная доска, тематические рисунки, плакат с пословицами.

Ход урока.

I.Организационный момент

   Приветствие

We have a lot of guests at our today׳s lesson. We are glad to see them so let׳s greet them.

Now let׳s play the educational game “What is there in a Galaxy?”

P1  In space there is a galaxy.

P2  In the Galaxy there is the Sun.

P3  Near the Sun there is a planet.

P4  On the planet there are six continents.

P5  On the continents there are many countries.

P6  In the countries there are many cities, towns and villages.

P7  In the cities, towns and villages every person has his own home.

T. English people say “There is no place like home”. This is the topic of our lesson. Dear friends! Today we are going to speak about this proverb. By the way, what other proverbs about home do you know? The aim of our lesson is to develop pupils׳ language skills listening, speaking and writing.

P3 My house is my castle.

P4 Home is where the heart is.

P5 Dry bread at home is better than roast meat abroad.

T. So today we׳ll speak about our houses, flats, rooms – all things which complete the notion “My home”. Some people call home a flat or a house where they live, others mean a native city. How far do you agree with these proverbs? You can have different points of view even opposite ones.

P1 I strongly agree with this. I like the place where I was born very much! It is my personal point of view.

P2 I agree that a Motherland is the place people always remember and want to come back to.

P3 I am sure people should remember the place where they were born.

P4 I strongly disagree. The best place for me is my granny׳s place. I feel quiet. She allows me to do everything I want.

P5 I disagree. My cousin and my family moved to Canada. They are very happy there. Their home is far away now.

T. Now let׳s imagine for a while that you are famous designers. Suggest your own projects of our flats or houses. Divide into three groups and discuss your own projects of flats or houses.

Group 1

Our fantastic flat. This is our Fantastic Flat. We live in space in the spaceship. Everyone has a room of his own. They are not big but have all you need. Everything is done with the help of computer and robots. Robots can do housework. They cook, wash and dust. That’s why our spaceship is clean and tidy. We have a lot of time to learn and study the space.

Group 2

Our fantastic flat is a large yacht. There are a lot of rooms for each member of the family. Every room has all modern conveniences. There are some TV sets, some computers for each member of the family. The yacht is travelling in the sea all the time so we can see sightseeing from the windows. Of course, there is a huge swimming-pool on the yacht. All the members of the family can swim whenever they want. There is a large cinema and a dancing hall in the yacht. All the  members of the family can see films that are up to their tastes.

Dear teachers! You are welcome to our fantastic house in summer when you have holidays. You׳ll enjoy your sea voyage on board the yacht.

Group 3

Dear guests! You are welcome to our house which is situated in the country-side. It  is new and big. We have six rooms in our house. They are: a living room, three bedrooms, a large hall and the children׳s room. Of course, we have a large kitchen, a dining room and a bathroom. In front of the house there is a small flower garden. Between the house and the kitchen garden you can see an orchard. There are many apple trees, cherry trees and plump trees in it.

The nature of our village is wonderful.  That nature is our life. So we invite all the teachers present here to spend their holidays in the countryside. You׳ll enjoy your time gathering mushrooms in the wood, fishing or lying in the sun near the river. And of course fresh air is the best for your health. You׳ll be full of energy for the whole school year.
