Good afternoon witches, devils, vampires and other devil spirits! Keep quiet and keep
your ears open so that everybody can hear a bat flying, a leaf falling down from a tree or a
mouse rustling in the dry grass. Welcome to our Halloween party!
POEM
‘It’s Halloween‘
It’s Halloween! It’s Halloween!
The moon is full & bright.
And we will see what can’t be seen
on any other night.
Skeletons & ghosts & ghouls,
Grinning goblins fighting duels,
Werewolves rising from their tombs, Witches on their magic brooms.
In masks & gowns we haunt the street
And knock on doors for trick or treat.
Tonight we are the king & queen
for all tonight. It’s Halloween!
THE WITCHES’ DANCING (танец ведьм)
Ведущий: Halloween is a festival that takes place on October 31. This day was
originally called All Hallow’s Eve because it fell on the eve of All Saints’ Day.
According to old beliefs Halloween is the time, when the veil between the living & the
dead is lifted, & witches, ghosts & other supernatural beings appear.
Many Halloween customs are based on beliefs of the ancient Celts, who lived 2,000 years
ago in what is now Great Britain, Ireland & Northern France. Every year the Celts
celebrated the Druid festival of Samhain, Lord of the Dead & the Prince of Darkness. It
fell on October 31, the eve of the Druid New year. The Celts believed that on this night
Samhain allowed the souls of the dead to return to their homes as witches, goblins, black
cats or in other weird form. It was believed that evil spirits played tricks on October 31.
Now children dress up as ghosts & witches, go from house to house and say:
Trick or treat, smell our feet.
We want something good to eat.
Ведущий: A favorite custom is to make a jacko’lantern. According to an Irish legend,
jacko’lanterns were named for a man called Jack who was famous for his drunkenness &
being stingy. He played a joke on the Devil, that’s why he could enter neither heaven nor
hell, & only a live coal in a turnip lit his way out of the darkness.
Halloween, Halloween
Creepy, crawly Halloween
Trick or treat all in fun,
October 31st has come
Halloween, Halloween
Spooky, kooky Halloween
Kids in costumes, what a sight
On Halloween tonight
Big black cats
Vampire bats Ghosts and goblins out tonight
Causing quite a fright
Halloween, Halloween
Painted faces, what a scene
Door to door
They trick or treat
For something sweet to eat
Halloween, Halloween
Celebrating Halloween
Jacko'lanterns all aglow
So the ancient stories go
Halloween, Halloween
Celtics started Halloween
They celebrated harvest time
With gifts of food and wine
Candles glow
Spirits go
Bringing luck and fortune too
This is what they knew
Halloween, Halloween
Now they call it Halloween
Skulls and bones
Create the scene
Very scary Halloween
Halloween, Halloween
Let's have fun on Halloween
Witches fly
And children scream
Tonight on Halloween
Witches fly
And children scream
Tonight on Halloween!
S2: Our plane leaves for Canada. What do you know about this country?
(короткое видео про канаду на англ) _________________________5 б класс______________
Mother's Day is a time of celebration for Mom. It is a time of breakfast in bed, family
gatherings, and saying "I Love You."During the 17th century, those living on the British
isles initiated a religious celebration of motherhood, called Mothering Sunday, which was
held on the forth Sunday during the Lenten season.
When is Mother's Day? Mother’s Day
is celebrated by Canadians on the second Sunday in
May.
In North American country of Canada, Mothers Day is a the most popular festival after
Christmas and Valentines Day. Just as in USA, Mothers Day in Canada is celebrated in the
second Sunday in the month of May. People pay tribute to their mothers on the day and
thank them for their constant support and love. In Canada, cards and flowers are the most
commonly used methods of expressing love for moms.
As Mothers Day is a festival with strong emotional value, it has been commercialised to a
large extent with compelling advertising strategies in the technologically advanced country
of Canada. Sale of cards breaks all records on mothers day. Many people also take their
mothers out for a dinner on Mothers Day and bake special cakes for them. Mothers are
also pampered with gifts and day off from kitchen by their loving children.
Caring children make it a point to greet Mothers Day to their own moms, grand mothers
and to women who are like their mothers. Those staying away from their mothers visit
them and make them feel special. While those who cannot pay a visit call on phone. No
wonder, phone traffic is highest on the occasion of Mothers Day.
M O T H E R
"M" is for the million things she gave me,
"O" means only that she's growing old,
"T" is for the tears she shed to save me,
"H" is for her heart of purest gold;
"E" is for her eyes, with lovelight shining, "R" means right, and right she'll always be,
Put them all together, they spell "MOTHER," A word that means the world to me.
In Mother’s Day people in the family try to help her. On that day they visit their mothers,
cook holiday supper and give them presents and “A Mother’s Day Card”
The day before his birthday
the baby said to God:
– I don’t know wherefore I’m going to this world…
How will I live there?
I am so small and helpless…
God answered: “I’ll give you an angel…
who will be waiting for you
and take care of you.
– But what shall I do on Earth?
Here I am smiling and laughing,
It’s all I need for my happiness.
Your angel will smile for you.
You will feel his love.
and you will be happy .
– But how will I understand him?
I don’t know the language
he’s speaking
– Your angel will teach you
his language
– He will jealously watch over you
and sain you
– When should I come back to you, God?
– Your angel will tell you everything.
– What’s the name of my angel?
– His name is not an important thing.
– He will have a lot of different names
– But you will call him MOTHER

Good work! B1: Christmas and New Year are the most favorite holidays of English children. People
in Britain celebrate Christmas on the 25 of December a week before the New Year. And
today we are going to show you how children in England celebrate these holidays.
The beginning of a new year is a time for celebrating and for making a new start. On New
Year`s Eve many people go to parties with their families, neighbours and friends. In
London people gather to celebrate in Trafalgar Square. From there they can hear Big Ben,
the large clock at the Houses of Parliament.
В2: When Big Ban strikes, people all hug and kiss each other and shout "Happy New
Year". But young people go out and meet their friends at parties, discos and different
clubs. But little children are waiting for Santa Claus. They believe that while they are
sleeping he comes to visit them. He is a kind old man in red clothes with a big sack of
toys. He put sweets and small toys in the children`s stockings.
В1: Some people ignore it completely and go to bed at usual time. Others, however, do
celebrate it in one way or another. The most common type of celebration is a New Year
party.
There is a funny tradition connected with the New Year: the 1st Foot. This is the 1st visitor
to enter a house on NY`s morning. He is a person of great importance. The 1st Foot must
be a man because it is believed that if a woman 1st sets foot in the house, bad luck will
follow throughout the year. Traditionally, the 1st visitor of the year must carry food, drink
and coal into the house. Coal helps to make a fire in midwinter and there shall never be
lack of food and drink during the coming year.
под музыку “Here comes Santa Claus” приходит Санта)
Santa Claus: Merry Christmas and happy New Year! Were you good and obedient
children this year?

Do you like to sing songs? Do you know a traditional English song about my friend?
Rudolf, the rednosed reindeer
had a very shiny nose.
And if you ever saw him,
you would even say it glows.
All of the other reindeer
used to laugh and call him names.
They never let poor Rudolf
play in any reindeer games.
Then one foggy Christmas eve
Santa came to say:
"Rudolf with your nose so bright,
won't you guide my sleigh tonight?"
Then all the reindeer loved him
as they shouted out with glee:
"Rudolf the rednosed reindeer,
you'll go down in history!" Let us sing my favourite song «We wish you a Merry Christmas»!
Thank you very much. We wish you
