7класс Учитель Кондратьева Е.Ю. МОАУ «Гимназия №3 г.Орска» The land and the people of Great Britain. Цель урока: развитие социокультурной и лингвострановедческой компетенции  учащихся. Задачи урока: 1) закрепить лексический материал по теме "Великобритания"; 2) продолжить развитие навыков монологической речи; 3) способствовать развитию интеллектуальной, эмоциональной, мотивационной сферы  личности учащихся; 4) развивать познавательную активность учащихся;  5) формирование навыков и умений интеллектуального труда (поиск информационных  источников, навыков самостоятельной и групповой форм работы). Оборудование урока: географическая карта Великобритании; рабочая тетрадь к  учебнику И.Н. Верещагиной, О.В.Афанасьевой (V); индивидуальные карточки;  компьютер; мультимедийный проектор; презентации Power point. Ход урока: T: Good morning, pupils! I’m glad to see you today. How are you? P: T: What date is it today? P: T: That’s right. And do you know that almost every day people on our planet celebrate  different holidays? P: T: Some holidays are popular all over the world and some are celebrated only in one country.  Let’s review  some of the holidays. Read their names after me. (#1). T­PP: T: Very well. And now, remember, where these holidays are celebrated and match them with  the names of the countries(#1). P: T: Quite right you are. But when is … celebrated? P: T: So, what is the nearest holiday? P: T: And I hope you know where Ireland is situated? P: T: Yes, that’s true. Today at the lesson we shall speak about the land and the people of Great  Britain. By the way, what is the official name of this country? P: (#2) T: How else can we name it? P: T: Every country has its own flag. What is the nickname of the British flag? P: (#3) T: What can you tell about it? P:  T: And here you can see early designs for the flag. (#4). T: All right. I’d like you to remember some general information about the country. At the  same time some of you will work in pairs and complete the information about the UK. P: (4 pupils work in pairs) T: Work with the map and show: ­ Parts of the UK and their capitals (2 pp) ­ Big industrial cities in the country (1p) ­ Water bodies around the UK (1p) ­ Water bodies that separate Britain from the continent(1p) P: T: Very good. So, read us your information from the tables. P:  T: Thank you, it was good. As we see people in Britain speak not only English. But the  English language is very colourful. Let’s read the text and try to prove it. P: read the text   “Colourful language”. T: Now choose the correct answer and get ready to check up your answers by changing. P: do the task to the text, change the papers and check up the answers. (#5) T:  ­ Have you learnt anything interesting? ­ Have you ever been yellow? ­ Who has a garden? Do you have a green thumb? ­ Have you ever been blue? When are people usually blue? ­ Have you ever told a white lie? P: T: I’m sure you’ll remember such colourful exoressions and be able to use them. And now  let’s have a little rest and do exercises. P: do exercises T: OK. Now, look at this woman. Do you know her name? What is she? (#6) P: T: Yes, that’s right. She is the Queen of the UK, the Head of State. But has she got a real  power in the country? Try to answer this question after reading the text. It’s ex.1 p.70 from  your workbooks. P: read the text and fill in the missing words T: So, can you answer my question? P: T: Yes, the Queen is a symbol of the country, she meets different people and goes to different  places. (#7,8). So do the members of the royal family (#9) – her husband Prince Phillip, duke  of Edinburgh (#10), her son Charles, Prince of Wales (#11), her grandsons Prince Harry and  Prince William (#12) and other members of the royal family (#13). T: But now let’s come back to your home task. During two weeks you were working in small  groups and making projects. Now, I’d like each group to show us the project and to tell all you can about parts of the UK. P: in groups tell about England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. T: Thank you, it was great and very interesting. Do you like your works? Was it difficult for  you to get information and to sum it up? Have you learnt anything new, interesting, useful?
