A basic introduction to the film/book
What sort of film/book is it?
Who is the director/author?
Who are the stars?
When was it made/written?
Did it win any awards?
If it is a book: was the book filmed?

MAIN BODY

2nd paragraph:
A basic summery of the plot. What happens? (This is often done in the Present Simple)
3rd paragraph:
The strong points of the film/book, or the weak points, or both (remember to use contrasting expressions: however, on the other hand, in contrast). It’s good idea to try and think of one negative aspect of a good film/book or one positive aspect of a bad film/book, if you can. It makes review look more balanced.

CONCLUSION

Sum up, give your final opinion. Would you recommend the film/book to people?
What sort of people?
How does it compare with similar films/books, films by the same director/author, the sequel or prequel, etc?
