Are there towns of the Present or the Past? What can you see?

What is the subject of our lesson? The subject of our lesson is “In the Past”

“In the Past” What will we do? What do you think about it? What tense should we use to describe the town of the past? We’ll know about the towns in the past. We’ll learn the rule about Past Simple. We’ll do some exercises.

And we’ll work with the text about the town Mineral Park Open, please, your textbooks on page 66. Read the task of exercise 3a.

Look through the text again and list the verbs which express an action in the past Was Lived Travelled Worked Liked Stopped Started Moved Closed Tried

What can you say about these verbs? They express the actions in the past They are the verbs of the Past Simple (V2) They are the regular verbs (except was) The regular verbs in the Past Simple have got the adding -ed

Do you know about different pronounciation of the adding –ed? talked, lived, wanted What are the spelling rules for adding – ed to the regular verbs in the Past Simple? Lived Look at the list you made and say Travelled Worked Liked Stopped Started Moved Closed Tried

Now look at the table of ex 6a, write the past simple of the verbs in the correct box. Then listen and check •[d] •[id] •[t] [id] wanted, visited [t] washed, worked, cooked, watched [d] opened, carried, cleaned, played, travelled, listened

Affirmative (+) sentences 1. подлежащее 2. сказуемое (V2).           I liked it too.

Interrogative (?) sentences 1. Did 2. подлежащее 3.сказуемое (V1)?              Did she dance yesterday evening? What did you do yesterday?

Negative (-) sentences 1. подлежащее 2. did not 3. сказуемое (V1). You did not (didn't) answer.
