Volcano, crater, lava, an active volcano, a dormant volcano, an extinct volcano, to erupt, to explode, eruption, magma, tiltmeter. The procedure of the lesson: T: Good morning, dear children! Sit down! Who is on duty today? What date is it today? Who is absent today? How are you? What’s the weather like today? How many lessons do you have today? What are they? Can you name any mountains? Do you know what a volcano is? What volcanoes do you know? Where is it situated? Ex. 10 p. 25 Give me your copybooks! As you’ve already understood the theme of our lesson is volcano. Today we are going to read text and talk about volcanoes. Ex. 1 p. 26 Study the note. Ex. 2 p. 26 Work in groups of 4 and try to answer the following questions. Now let’s discuss them all together. Ex. 4 p. 26 Read the texts and answer the questions again. Did you know all the answers? What new information have you learnt? Ex. 5 p. 28 True or false? Ex. 6 p. 28 Answer the questions. Ex. 7 p. 28 Find in the text. Ex. 8 p. 29 Read the text and put in the missing verb in the correct tense. Example: It happened on the morning of May, 18, 1980. Ex. 9 p. 29 Read the text again and choose the best completion to the sentence below. Ex. 9 p. 29 Jigsaw. Divide into 2 groups. The first group reads the text A, the second group – text B. Then choose the partner from another group and retell each other your jokes. Then go back to your group and retell the joke of the other group. Ex. 11 p. 30, to learn the new words.
