Цель урока:

Формирование лексических навыков по теме «Sightseeing»; навыков аудирования; навыков говорения; навыков смыслового чтения.

Задачи урока:

Образовательные:

Активизировать лексику по теме «London Landmarks»;

Совершенствовать навыки аудирования учащихся в работе с текстами «Seven Top Places to See in London», «Westminster», «Buckingham Palace», «The Tower of London», «Leicester Square»;

Совершенствовать навыки монологической речи учащихся по темам «Westminster», «Buckingham Palace», «The Tower of London»;

Совершенствование навыков смыслового чтения на основе текста «Busy Spots in London: Leicester Square».

Развивающие:

Развивать фонематический слух;

Развивать навыки и умения аудирования, чтения, говорения;

Развивать внимание, память, языковую догадку, воображение;

Формировать социокультурную компетенцию учащихся;

Развивать умение давать самооценку своей деятельности.

Ход урока:

 

1.    Организационный момент

T: Good morning, guys. Sit down, please.

How are you today?

Ps: Good morning. We are fine, thank you.

T: Today we have an unusual lesson. We have guests today.

T:Перед вами на столах лежат цветочки: красные, синие и зеленые. Посмотрите на них внимательно и выберите тот, который соответствует вашему эмоциональному настроению именно сейчас. Красный цвет –  вы полны энергии, готовы активно работать. Зеленый цвет – вы спокойны. Синий цвет – вы испытываете чувство тревоги, беспокойства.

2.    Целеполагание

Показ картинок в презентации, звучит народная британская музыка.

T: What is the topic of our lesson today? Look at the blackboard, please. You can see the pictures, you hear the music.

T:  What is the topic of our lesson?

Ps:  London!

T:  Well done, but not exactly this! What do you see in the pictures?  

Ps: Sightseeing. Landmarks. Places of interest. Busy spots.

T: Correct! But when we are in another town, we write e-mails to our friends. On your desks you see the e-mails with gaps. While going through the lesson, we’ll fill in the gaps and get a ready e-mail.

3.      Актуализация

T: Look at the blackboard. I invite you to London!

P: Even if you lived in London your whole life you wouldn’t have time to see everything. But of course there are some places that you shouldn’t miss while in London.

1.    The London Eye on the Thames. It’s a huge observation wheel and you can see as far as to 25 miles.

2.    St Paul’s Cathedral. It is one the most beautiful buildings in London. It was rebuilt several times to

reach its modern beauty.

3.    Buckingham Palace, the official residence of the queen. Lots of people come here to see the changing

of the guard.  

4.    Big Ben. It’s the symbol of London but it’s the name of the bell, not the tower.

5.    Trafalgar Square. There is the Nelson’s Column in the center of the square. It’s the heart of London.

6.    The Tower of London. Perhaps it’s the most haunted place in the world.

7.    Westminster Abbey. This is the place where kings and queens were crowned.

So, London is the place where you always find something to do

T: Now, guys, look at the blackboard and tell me names of the landmarks you see.

Ps: The London Eye, St Paul’s Cathedral, Trafalgar Square, The Tower of London, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace.

T: Excellent! Now we start writing your e-mails. And your friends will help with additional information. Listen to them.

P1: Buckingham Palace is the official home of the queen. It can be visited when the Royal Family is not in the palace. There you can see the Queen's Gallery with famous works of art. The palace's stables can also be visited. The changing of the guard takes place daily at 11 o'clock in front of Buckingham Palace. It is very interesting and colourful.

T: Now, fill in the gaps in your e-mail.

P2: The Tower of London is on the river Thames. It has got four towers. It is the history of Great Britain. The Tower of London was a king’s home, a prison and now it is a museum. You can see here a lot of crows. They are the symbol of the Tower of London and they live here. And men dressed up in historic clothes are called Yeomen. You can see the Royal Jewelers in one of the towers.  

T: Now, fill in the gaps in your e-mail.

P3: Westminster is a complex consisting of Westminster Abbey and Westminster Palace. Westminster Palace is the place where the British Parliament sits. The most famous part of this palace is Big Ben. But we know that Big Ben is not the name of the tower but the huge bell that is inside. Westminster Abbey is the place with tombs of British kings and queens.

T: Now, fill in the gaps in your e-mail.

Tsaritsyno is a big park in Moscow. It is located in the south of Moscow. It is famous for its beautiful landscapes and amazing palaces. It is the ideal place for having a good rest, enjoying Russian history, feeding ducks and squirrels and taking photos.
