Resources: CD, interactive board., flashcards, grammar cards, Power point  presentation Type of the lesson: Discussion. Technology: RWCT Procedure: I. EVOCATION a/  Greeting / Warm up  Good morning. Nice to meet you. How are you? I hope you are well today.  Before beginning our today’s lesson , let’s do the circle and say each other the best wishes. P. Good luck to you!  P .Wish you success!  P .Wish you happiness!  P .Take care of yourself! Now, guys I will give you these sheet of papers, you should choose one of  them. I will divide you into two group according to your papers.  First team: “Qazaqstan” and the second team is “Discovery channel”. Let's start our lesson. The theme of our lesson is Reality TV. Today we are going  to discuss  TV shows . We’ll listen to the tape, read texts, do many lexical and  grammar exercises.   b/  Brainstorming Slide # 1I would like you to look at the board! What kinds of programmes do you like?  (Lets fill in the chat on the board) T: Give the definition of these types of TV programmes.  Phone­in­a programme, in which people telephone to give their opinions or  ask famous person questions.  Game show/ quiz show – a programme where people play games and answer questions to win prizes.  Show ­ a programme that is indented to be entertaining or funny.  Soap­opera – a television story about a group of people and their lives.  Cartoon – film story for children.  Sitcom – a popular form of humorous television.  Series – a set of separate programmes each of which tells the next part of a  story or deals with the some subjects.  Move/film – a full­length film.  The news – a programme which tells you about all the important events that  are happening in the world.  Wildlife programme­a television programme about wild animals.  Documentary – a programme that gives you facts and information about a  serious subjects such as history, sciences or social problems.  Music show – an entertaining music programme On the board  there are  photos of   popular reality TV shows in our country T Look at these TV shows in our country and try to give much information  about them. What kind of things  do people do on these shows?P1.  “Who wants to be a millionaire?" It is a game show where the player is  asked different questions. I find this programme clever and informative and try  not to miss it. P2.  Наша правда “A talk show” A program where a group of people come  together to discuss different problems. P3 “Kalaylym” A single man or a woman comes to this show to find their better half. Sometimes they get married.  Slide # 2     II. Realization of Meaning Read the text, discuss them in groups and answer the main question. Don’t look up every new words. Just read and get general idea of the text . “ Ever   fancied  being on TV?” T: What is the text about?  P:  The text is about the show “Amazing race” T: Where is this show come from? P: the USA T: What is the price of this show? P: 1 million dollars  T: What does this show include? P: The show includes the “ordinary” ( playing volleyball, gathering sheep), the  “personal” ( getting tattooed, shaving your head), the “disgusting” ( eating two  kilos of meat, drinking blood) and the “dangerous” ( rolling over in a car, bungee  jumping).  T: What is different about this show? P. The show participants know each other T: What are participants? P. They are married couples, dating couples, ex­couples, best friends and family  members T: What makes this show successful?  P: People, who are close argue and get frustrated with each other when they are  stressed.  T: What happens at the end of the show? T:  Our class has a TV presenter. Now come to the board and tell us about your  job.S: I, Baltabayev Arsen, work as a TV presenter of “Enbek­ermek” program at Balapan TV channel. I joined the channel a year and a half ago. Among many applicants I was selected for this position.  I like speaking in front of the camera. Now I have telecasted two seasons of the program. In the future I want to be an actor. I will do my best to make this dream come true.     III. REFLECTION a/ Five lined poem  We have to make only 5 points.  Our lesson is going to the end and I want to thank everybody. Now let’s make a cinquain.  We have to make only 5 points.
