It’s unique, because it is at the same time a continent, the smallest one in the world. It is a very young country. It lies  between the Pacific Ocean and the Indean Ocean.  Even the sun rises there in the west, which is strange for Europeans.

A  lot of animals native to it, including kangaroo, koala, dingo and echidna. Wave Rock is a natural rock formation that is shaped like a tall breaking ocean wave.  Agriculture is very well developed there. It’s the worlds leading manufacturer of wool.

There are not very many cities in this contry. The population of 25 million is highly urbanized and heavily concentrated on the eastern seaboard. People cannot live where there  is no water, and so  the majority live in the richer south-east. The capital  is a remarkable city with lakes, parks and skyscrapers.

It is a member of the Commonwealth of  Nations which is an association formed by Britain and some of its former colonies.
