Тема урока: «Hobbies»

Цель урока: - совершенствование коммуникативных навыков и умений. активизация во всех видах речевой деятельности изученной ранее лексики по теме «Любимое Времяпровождение»

Задачи урока:

Образовательные:

1.                             формирование и совершенствование лексики по теме;

2.                             совершенствование навыков диалогической речи уч-ся по теме;

3.                             создание условий для формирования навыка устной речи в форме обсуждения и дискуссии;

          развитие критического мышления

Воспитательные:

         Воспитывать у обучаемых интерес к изучению английского языка,

         Воспитать умение организовать свой досуг и с пользой проводить свободное время

Развивающие:

1.                             развитие умения выказывать и аргументировать свою точку зрения;

2.                             развитие способности анализировать, сравнивать и систематизировать предлагаемый материал;

          Развивать у школьников речевые умения аудирования и говорения в монологической и диалогической речи;

Формы учебной деятельности: парная, групповая, фронтальная. индивидуальная, работа в парах

Оформление урока: 

Конверт с письмом из Великобритании, кепка, сумка почтальона с надписью «Post - Office». листы самооценки, презентация учителя карточки с заданиями различные виды увлечений; карточки для работы в группе.

Oh, thank you very much. Oh, we’ve got a letter. Let’s see who has sent it.

Wow, here is a puzzle for you to do.
Name all the words in the pictures, take  the first letter of each word and you will read/see  the topic of your lesson.

So, what are we going to talk about? (слайд 1)

There are so many things in our life that we must do, for example to clean the rooms, to go shopping, to do homework. They are our duties. Sometimes we don’t like them but we do them. There are so many things in our life that we like to do. They are our hobbies, we like them and we do them in pleasure.

Hobbies are different. They make our life more interesting. Can we share them with someone else?

You should have some time for rest, games and hobbies after work, after school. It is good for our health and mind.

By the way, can you give a synonym to the word hobby?
You are right.

Is it interesting to learn how people spend their free time?

Would you like to learn about free time activities of British students?

 Do they have the same hobbies?

Where can we take the information from?

So, what will our aim be for today? (слайд 2)

By the end of this lesson you’ll be able to speak clearly about your free time in English.

There are many kinds of leisure activities. We may call them free time, pastimes, hobby, interests, tastes.

The aim of the lesson is to talk about our hobbies, learn about hobbies of British students and compare them.

Учитель предлагает повторить английские звуки и прочитать слова с ними хором, затем индивидуально, добавить по одному слову к каждому звуку.

To talk correctly about  hobbies in English we should revise the sounds and the rules of reading.

Look at the screen and pronounce the sounds and words after me. Please, add one word for each sound. (слайд 3)

What is a hobby? Hobby is what we like to do in our free time. Why are hobbies useful for people? Hobbies make our life more interesting and make us more responsible. Hobbies help us to choose a profession. What kinds of hobbies do you know?

Swimming, dancing, …What hobbies do you think are the most interesting? Travelling, sport…

Учитель предлагает учащимся просмотреть видео о том, как британские школьники проводят свой досуг, и назвать чем они увлекаются. Затем сравнить с нашими увлечениями, наших друзей, родителей и сделать вывод.

Let’s watch the video and find out what free time activities are the most popular among English teenagers and we’ll find out if our hobbies are different or the same.

Answer my questions: How do the English spend their free time?

    a) What role do hobbies play in our lives?

    b) Does hobby help to develop one’s personality? How?

    c) What groups of hobbies do you know?

    d) What is the most popular hobby in England?

    e) What is a relatively new hobby among grown-ups and children?

    f) Are you fond of playing computer games?

    g) What does making things include?

   h) What do people collect? And what do you collect?

   i) You learn new things while reading, don’t you?

    J) Do you like reading? What books do you prefer?

All the activities can be divided into two large groups. When the weather is good we spend our free time outdoors and when the weather is bad we stay at home. So the two large groups are outdoors and indoors activities. Let’s make a list of these activities.

What can we do? Where can we go?

Well, now let’s imagine that the weather is nasty, windy or wet. We don’t want to go out, we stay at home. What can we do in our free time at home.

What about board games?  What board games do you know?

Обучающиеся догадываются о значении новых лексических единиц.

Обучающиеся составляют собственные предложения по видео, рассказывают об увлечениях британских школьников, сравнивают со своими интересами, делают вывод.

British students like music. They are fond of sport. They like keeping fit.

British students and Russian students have much in common. They have the same hobbies. Though we live in different countries, we do the same activities in free time.

Outdoors activities: go for a walk, go camping, meet our friends, go cycling and we can do or play different kind of sports.

snowboarding, skiing, ice-hockey ….

Indoors activities:

tennis, basketball, volleyball …

Read a book or a magazine, watch TV or a DVD, listen to music, play computer games, surf the Internet, talk on the phone etc.

backgammon,  billiards, chess, darts, dominoes, puzzle etc.

Физкультминутка

Учитель предлагает поиграть в игру – показать одноклассникам попавшееся слово жестами. Класс называет слово по-английски и повторяет движение.

Now let’s rest and play a game. One of you should show the word to the others by gestures. The others should guess the hobby and repeat the action.

Well, I think you are a bit of tired. Let’s do some exercise to be active and cheerful. Let’s play a game. Think of a hobby, but don’t name it, explain it with the help of your hands and mimicry. We’ll try to guess what your hobby is.

There is an interesting task for you to do. Each group has a card (приложение). I think it’s easy to guess what to do. I wish you good luck. (2 minutes) Your task is to read the texts about different hobbies and put the parts of the text into the correct order.

Самостоятельно работают в группах, выполняя задание по карточкам, составляют диалоги. (каждой группе по 2 диалога)

Осуществляют взаимопроверку, лидеры оценивают работу членов группы.

Can you imagine your life without any hobby at all?

Do you have a chance to give a lot of time to your hobby?

Does your hobby help you relax?

Here is the next task for you. Tell your classmates about your hobbies. Then say what your relatives or friends like to do (doing) in their free time.

Speaking about our preferences we can use not only the word “like”, there is another combination «to be fond of», but it’s a more emotional expression. For example you can say:

I like dancing or I am fond of dancing.
