Урок    English in Use; Asking for/giving directions.  Цели: способствовать развитию навыков чтения, диалогической речи, фонематического  слуха и произносительных навыков; способствовать формированию умения собирать и  организовывать информацию по заданной теме и представлять ее в виде связного текста. Оборудование: презентация по теме урока, аудиозапись, учебник, доска, компьютер. Класс: 6  Ход урока 1. Организационный момент  Good morning, boys and girls! (Good morning, teacher!)  How are you?  Who’s absent today? 2.  Постановка цели и задач урока. Мотивация учебной деятельности учащихся.  Введение темы модуля             Вводная беседа Look at the slide, please. Can you guess what topic we will revise today.  (Слайд 2) (the means of transport). And now look at these signs. What is the topic of our lesson? (asking for directions and  giving directions) Today you’re going to learn how to ask for directions and how to give directions. 3. Повторение лексики по теме «Средства транспорта» How do you like to travel? (Слайд 3) How can people travel?  (Слайд 4) 4. Проверка домашнего задания.   Another mean of transport is the metro. Let’s check your homework.  Open the magazine Spotlight on Russia at the end of your books, page 5. Now we’re  going to read the article about the Moscow metro. What can you see in the  photo? (Слайд 5) (the Moscow metro) And on these slides you can see the station Ploshchad Revolutsii and the metro station  Teatralnaya. (Слайды 6 и 7) 1) Let’s learn the words you will see in the article. (Слайд 8) architecture voice of the announcers a male voice a female voice major sights tourist attractions mosaic ceilings . chandeliers sculptures Ученики повторяют слова за учителем, а потом читают их и переводят. 2) Контроль выразительного чтения  статьи и беседа по вопросам  What city is the capital of Russia?  How many people live in Moscow?  Is the metro the most popular means of transport in Moscow? Is it fast or slow?   How many stations does the metro have?  How many passengers use the metro every day?  How do passengers know where a train goes from?  Why do people call the metro “The Underground Palace”? 5. Работа по теме урока. Работа по учебнику Now we are going to the city centre and we will learn how to ask for directions and how to give  directions. As we’re not on the street at the moment, we can use a map. (Слайд 9) 1)    Упр. 1 (c. 32). ­What places can you see on the map? (Ученики перечисляют названия мест и улиц на карте.) 2)    Упр. 2 (с. 32). ­Read the sentences and discuss in pairs which sentences are for giving directions and which are  said by someone asking for directions. (Следует ограничить время выполнения задания. Затем ученики все вместе проверяют  ответы. (Слайд 10) Keys: Asking for directions: excuse me, how can I get to ... ? Excuse me, could you tell me the  way ... ? Do you know where ... is? Giving directions: Just cross / go up / go down this road/street and... Take the first/second  turning on your right/left... Turn right/left and go straight on. (Ученики читают фразы хором за учителем и индивидуально. Учитель обращает внимание  учащихся на интонацию.) 3) Запись новых слов и выражений в тетрадь. (Слайд 11) Cross the road Go up the street Go down the street Go straight on Turn right Turn left Take the first turning on your right Take the second turning on your left On the coner 4) Упр. 3 (с. 32).  Look at the map and find Tony’s spot. Where’s he now? (Tony’s next to the sports  centre.)  What street is it? (It’s East Street.)  Let’s find Sue’s spot. Where’s Sue now? (She’s in High Street, between the supermarket  and the cinema.)  Listen to the dialogues and say where Tony and Sue want to go. (Ученики слушают  аудиозапись и отвечают на вопрос: Топу wants to go to the post office. Sue wants to go  to the library.) 5) Чтение диалога. Let’s read the dialogues in pairs. (Если необходимо, учащиеся слушают аудиозапись еще раз перед чтением диалогов в  парах. Учитель может предложить нескольким ученикам прочитать диалоги вслух перед  классом.) 6) Упр. 4 (с. 32).  (Учитель объясняет задание. Каждая пара разыгрывает диалог по одному из трех  вариантов. Учитель раздаёт разрезанный текст диалога, который должны составить  учащиеся. Учитель помогает по мере необходимости.)  Imagine the situation: а)  You’re at the cinema and want to go to the museum. Ask the way and give directions.  (Students’ answers). b)  You’re at the cafe and want to go to the sports centre. Ask the way and give directions.  (Students’ answers). c) You’re at the library and want to go to the chemist’s. Ask the way and give directions.  (Students’ answers). Possible answers: From the cinema to the museum A: Excuse me, how can I get to the museum B: Go down High Street until you get to the trafffic lights. Turn right into West Street and go  straight on. It’s on your left, next to Bill’sRestaurant. A: Thank you very much. B: You are welcome. From the café to the sports centre A: Excuse me, could you tell me the way to the sports centre, please B: Yes. Go down High Street, turn left into East Street and go straight on. It’s on your right next  to the chemist’s. A: Is it far B:  Not really. A: Thank you. B: Don’t mention it. From the library to the chemist’s A: Excuse me, is there a chemist’s near here? B: Yes, there is. Go down High Street and then turn left into East Street. Go straight on. The  chemist’s is on your right next to the post office. A: Thank you. B: You’re welcome. 7) Учащиеся читают вслух свои диалоги и записывают их в тетрадь. 6.
