What do you know about the TV program “Sesame Street”? ­ First, listen to their English names. ­ Now let’s pronounce their names in English. Ord, Cookie Monster, Sherlock Hemlock, Grover, Cassie. ­ Let’s play “Follow the leader”  Demonstrates the signs and pronunciation of  the sounds [g], [v], [ əυ ɒ ɔ ], [ ], [ :], [ ɜ :] ­ Who has this sound in the name? Shows the card with the sound. Read their names in Russian. Орд, Куки  Монстр, Шерлок Хемлок, Гроувер,  Кэсси. 2. ­ What do they like? Listen to the teacher. Pronounce the names after the teacher. ­ All the “Sesame Street” characters like painting. Open your textbooks on page 33, ex. 4.  Listen to the speaker carefully and  repeat after him/her the names of the  colours. Sais colours: red, yellow, pink, green,  purple, orange, blue, grey, violet, black,  brown. Listen to and pronounce after the teacher. Echo game (repeat the sound loud, low, in  a whisper)  Call the names of heroes. P1: Grover likes dancing. P2: Cookie Monster likes cookies. P3: Kassie likes singing. Look at the pictures, read, listen to and  repeat: red, yellow, pink, green, purple,  orange, blue, grey, violet, black, brown. In the second form eight­years old students have just  started learning English. The majority of students of the class have visual and kinaesthetic learning style. Only 2 students have mixed learning style. Students have positive attitude to learning English, they ate 2. Post­lesson reflection note eager to learn facts about anew culture and life of foreign children. The used in the class course­book “English 2” aims individual development of students in the intercultural dialogue. The main feature of the course­book is the complex approach to the teaching productive and receptive skills.  In the lesson students worked with the colours, personal pronouns: it, he, she; the verb to be (is/’s). The presentation stage was organized with the help of Multi­sensory and Total Physical Response (TPR) approaches. At the practice stage were used such activities as colouring, working with flashcards, singing song, reading and describing the characters to each other. Students liked learning new words and structures. They could describe the “Sesame Street” characters using the names of colours. At the reflection stage they noticed that most of all they enjoyed such activities as miming, colouring and singing. The students’ answers and the results of the reflection made me satisfied with the lesson and with the used teaching methods.
