Unit 29 May (have) and might (have) (2) (a) Изучите следующую ситуацию:     Вы ищете Джека. Никто не знает с уверенностью, где он, но вам высказали несколько предположений: He may be in his office. (= возможно, что он в конторе) He might be having lunch. (= возможно, что он обедает)  Ask Ann. She might know. (= возможно, знает Анна)     Мы употребляем may и might , чтобы сказать о том,  что что­то возможно. В этом случае значительной разницы между этими глаголами не существует. Вы можете сказать:   ­ He may be in his office. или He might be in his office.   Отрицательными формами являются may not и  might not (mightn't):   ­ Jack might not be in his office.  (= возможно,он не в своем офисе) ­ I'm not sure whether I can lend you any money. I may not have enough. (= возможно, у меня их недостаточно)Изучите конструкцию:     I/you/he(и т.д)     may   might   be in his office (not) be having/waiting и т.д.   know/have/do и т.д. (b) May have done и might have done употребляется, когда действие имело место в прошлом.   ­ A: I wonder why Ann didn't answer the doorbell. ­ B: Well, I suppose she may have been in the bath.  (= возможно, она была в ванной) ­ A: Why didn't he say hello when he passed us in the street? ­ B: He might have been day­dreaming. (= возможно , он был в мечтах) ­ A: I can't find my bag anywhere. ­ B: You might have left it in the shop.  (= возможно, ты оставила ее) ­ A: I wonder why Ann didn't come to the meeting. ­ B: She might not have known about it.  (= возможно, она не знает)   (c) Изучите следующую конструкцию:may   I/you/he   been in the bath (not) have been day­dreaming/waiting и т.д. (и т.д.) might   know/left/hadv и т.д.     Можно использовать `Couldn't have (done)' вместо `can't have (done)', но вероятность совершения действия при этом уменьшается:   ­ `Where's Jack?' `I'm not sure. He could be in his office, I suppose, but he's not usually there at this time.'   О may и might смотри также . Unit 30,Unit 31.
