Unit 30 May and might (future) (a) Глаголы may и might употребляются для сообщения о возможных действиях в будущем. Изучите эти примеры:   ­ I'm not quite sure where to go for my holidays but I may go to the USA. (=возможно, я поеду туда) ­ The weather forecast is not very good. It might snow this evening. (=возможно, пойдет снег) ­ We can't help her. Why doesn't she ask Nick? He might be able to help her. (=возможно, он сможет помочь)   Отрицательными формами этих глаголов являются may not или might not (mightn't).   ­ Zag may not go to the cinema with us. He is very busy. (= возможно, он не пойдет в кино) ­ There might not be a party on Sunday because the parents are ill. (=возможно, там не будет вечеринки)   Вы можете употреблять may или might, что вам больше нравится. Вы можете сказать:   ­ We may go to the USA. или ­ We might go to the USA.(b) Глаголы may и might имеют также и формы  Continuous: may/might be doing.     Сравните их с will be doing (см.Unit 10a,Unit 10b:   ­ Don't come at 6. I'll be watching my favourite film on television. ­ Don't come at 6. I may (or might) be watching my favourite film on television. (= perhaps I'll be in the middle of watching it.)   Формы Continuous этих глаголов (may/might be doing)также употребляются, когда вы говорите о возможных планах. Сравните:   ­ He's going to the USA in May. (наверняка) ­ He may (or might)be going to the USA in May. (возможно)   Но также можно сказать и так:   ­ He may/might go to the USA in May.   (c) May as well, might as well   Изучите следующий пример:A: ­ Where shall we go tonight? B: ­ I don't know. Any ideas? A: ­ Well, there's a party at Brigs. A lot of people will be there. B: ­ We might as well go there then. There's nothing else to do.   Конструкция may/might as well употребляется, когда мы говорим, что нам следовало бы сделать что­то, но только потому, что нет никакой причины этого не делать, и потому, что в данный момент  ничего лучшего нет. We might as well go there значит:Почему бы не пойти туда? Все равно ничего лучшего нет.   ­ I'll have to wait half an hour for the next train, so I might as well walk.  ­ We may as well go to thr party. We've nothing else to do. ­ Shall we go shopping now? ­ We might as well .     Об may и might см. также Unit 29.   Только о may см Unit 31.
