Unit 93 Participle clauses (a) Некоторые части предложения начинаются с  Present Participle (­ing­овая форма) или  Past Participle (форма на ­ed):   ­ The lady typing in the next room is our secretary. (­ing­овая форма) ­ The man injured in the accident was taken to hospital. (форма на ­ed)   (b) Мы употребляем ­ing­овые части предложения, чтобы сказать, что кто­то (или что­то) делали  в определённый момент времени:   ­ The lady is typing in the next room. ­ The lady typing in the next room is our secretary.   r someone doing something см.Unit 66.   Но еще эти Present Participle части можно употреблять, говоря о постоянных свойствах  вещей или людей, о том, что предмет делает всегда, а не в определённый момент времени:   ­ The bridge joining the two parts of the city is very beautiful. (=the bridge joins the two parts of the city.)(c) Части предложения на ­ed (Participle clauses) имеют страдательное значение:   ­ The man injured in the accident was taken to hospital. ­ None of the people invited to the party can come.   Injured и invited ­ это ПРИЧАСТИЯ ПРОШЕДШЕГО  ВРЕМЕНИ. У многих глаголов неправильные формы  причастий, которые оканчиваются не на ­ed. Например: stolen/made/bought/written и т.д.:   ­ The hours spent in hospital seemed to change his whole life. (=the hours were spent in hospital .)   Полный список неправильных глаголов дан в  Appendix 2.   (d) Мы часто используем ­ing­овые части предложения и части предложения с формой на ­ed после оборотов there is/there was и т.д.   ­ There were a lot of people waiting for him.   Более подробно об ­ing­овой части предложения см. Unit 67.
