What is skimming?
What is the topic of the text? (general subject)
What is the main idea? (the point in the text is making.)
What is the function of details? (to support the main idea, giving examples)
Where in the text can the main idea be found? (anywhere in the text)
How can you spot the main idea? (you need to find several supporting details)
